Spot PlayMEDAL COUNT (#4, 8-1) sits at a fat price on the morning line despite dropping in class out of the BC Juvenile into an allowance; connections have been itching to get him on turf, but he’s twice he has been in races transferred from the turf to the main track; ran his career-best Beyer, a 73, for a close fifth in the Bourbon on the Polytrack at Keeneland.– Byron King

Vulnerable FavoriteHow bad was that Jan. 3 GP starter won by DADDY'S JEWEL (#3, 5-2) if she was 2-5? And yet she was all-out to prevail by a neck. Today not only does she face a far tougher crew, but it’s also going a flat mile, and at least a couple rivals to her outside (Courtney Ryan, La Stupenda) look like they may’ve found a better spot. If indeed she comes favored here, she’s a definite play against. – Marty McGee
