Race 3 Twin Distinction In his first start against winners, he was chasing a solid pace before fading; given a rest, and down an important notch today, he can show more endurance yet seven furlongs still seems beyond his scope; longshot cannot be endorsed for an exacta finish here.   Unbridled Saint Respectable showings in the last pair when negotiating a mile; has limited workout activity for this venture, first in nearly 2 months, and he may have to change tactics today in light of the pace profile of the field; tough call overall.   Perfect Polar Finally graduated six weeks ago when getting up at the wire; has done well when trying seven-eighths in the past yet still seems to be aiming high here against this group; will need much luck to turn the tables on Flash Alert who was victorious in the race 2 back.   He Has Charm Cuts back from a mile where he encountered trouble yet still was good enough to capture; wheels back quickly and can be a late factor if receiving a strong pace set-up today; bound to be a generous price once again.   Optionality Yet another in this line-up who took quite a while to break maiden; did so last month in decent time and the last pair of Beyers, under new management, suggest he is at the top of his game; may be able to handle the extra furlong without much stress.   Flash Alert One of the main speeds to consider and he held on very well when losing a blanket finish in early February; controlled the issue throughout when scoring at 7 furlongs in the race prior but now will likely face a strong early challenge from Tale of My Cat; conflicting signals for this gelding.   Peace Before Dark Never got untracked in his 2013 finale; graduated in modest time in November and will have to improve significantly today in order to make an impact even with the weight concession; suggest a wait and see betting approach.   Tale of My Cat He was relentless in the latest placing, making 2 moves in the race before losing by a diminishing three-quarters of a length; may use Flash Alert as a target pacesetter and then go on the attack before the turn for home; major trifecta chances from this comfortable post.   Ba Ba Brett Unusual portfolio for this gelding who began his career in a pair of added money events; focus on the race 3 back at Woodbine where he was a pace factor until midstretch; needs patient handling from Caraballo who has already done well with a limited number of mounts for these connections. - Jim Kachulis Race 4 Viramundo Towers over this group on Beyers and class; finishing a distant third behind upstart Lea and champion Will Take Charge is obviously an excellent point of reference, which came on the heels of a closing third in a one-mile optional claimer; doesn't have an abundance of speed to chase in this optional starter, but should be along for a high placing.   Horned Frog Has been competitive in easier optional starters this winter, without having the smoothest of trips; Rosario knows him intimately and is 6 for 26 at the meet for this powerful barn; should be along to pick up some of the pieces, at the very least.   Bernie the Maestro Bernie came up empty in the lane after setting a lively pace in the nine-furlong Sunshine Millions Classic, in which he was made the second choice behind the runaway winner Mucho Macho Man; he got back on track by taking a recent seven-furlong optional starter over Goodtimehadbyall; 18-time figures to be a speed threat, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him make all the running.   Matty's Trail Durable 9yo has been a fringe player of late, and is bringing the lowest recent Beyers to the table; the runner-up from his latest returned to land a $100K optional claimer (93 Beyer), and the third horse came back to beat $25K conditioned claimers (78 Beyer); outsider.   Goodtimehadbyall Was overmatched against the likes of Lea and Jackson Bend two back in the G3 Hal's Hope, but was along for second behind Bernie the Maestro as the heavy favorite most recently in a $16K optional starter; 6yo rarely runs a bad one, and should be in the thick of the battle if things go his way.   Tarpy's Goal Dark bay is riding the wave of a two-race win steak in middle claimers under Lanerie, who's 12 for 65 at the meet aboard Dale Romans charges; his tactical speed might come in handy after breaking from the outside post, but he seems overmatched against this salty group. - Ron Gierkink Race 5 War Classic Majestic Warrior has been a poor influence as a turf sire, but this gelding has some turf on the bottom of his pedigree, and even though he was beaten by today's rival Main Man Mike in his latest outing, his turf form has been strong enough to suggest that he can get himself into the mix against these.   Five Gears His two starts over turf look pretty good when compared to what his rivals in here have shown to be capable of and the third-place finisher from his latest race returned to win next out here on 3/2 going 1 1/16m over turf vs. MSW rivals with a 76 Beyer.   Bright Face Not wild about what he showed in his belated career debut and don't like to see that he's needed a lot of time off since that race; third-place finisher from debut won next out at Mth on 8/11 going 1 1/16m over turf vs. MSW rivals with a 77 Beyer.   High Gauge Sire wins with approximately 10% of his turf starters and this is the first foal from a dam who won 2 of 6 starts for 83k, including 2 of 5 turf starts for 73k; he's been outrun at every point of call in his first two starts and not sure that the move to turf will prove to be a key for him.   Cosmic Karma His first two starts with Lasix weren't bad performances and perhaps this colt deserves another chance to see what he can do racing over turf; winner from latest returned to win next out at Lrl on 3/6 going 1 1/16m over turf vs. alw. rivals with a 78 Beyer.   Northeast Bound His lack of early speed is a concern, but he's out of a dam who won three of four turf starts for 73k, and he looks like he fits right in at this 40-35k maiden claiming level; feel that he deserves to be listed among the contenders.   Main Man Mike All three of his starts over turf help give him a competitive look in this spot, and the 71 Beyer speed figure he earned for his latest performance represents the best last race figure in this field; must consider.   Hooping His form has improved since giving turf another try two races ago, but he is going to need to take a noticeable step forward if he's planning on getting over on the top contenders in here.   Tryer Sire wins with approximately 6% of his first-time starters and with approximately 8% of his turf starters, and this is the first foal from an unraced dam; his recent workouts look good, but a two-turn mile can be tough on a firster, especially with an outside post in play. - Brian Pochman Race 6 The Rahy Angel Drops in to face claimers following a weak return to the lawn in her first start in 8 months; mare run well on the local sod a couple of seasons back, but she hasn't been that good in a long time; tough to make a case for her off what she showed in the comebacker.   Snit Fit She had some trouble at the level last time but didn't have much to offer at all thereafter; this outfit is having a rough stand and there's not a lot to suggest this filly will have much more to offer today; she doesn't face all that much here, but have to side against her on the win end.   Elusive Design Showed some early interest before backing up late in her return from the brief freshening; she still earned a competitive number in that first one off the barn's claim and broke her maiden at the local trip late last year; outfit looks to have found a good spot on the drop and a top pilot agrees to take the call; one to beat.   Jessie Can Mambo Tries better on the stretchout and surface switch for her return to the lawn; sprinter should be a pace presence on the stretchout as she doesn't look to face much other early heat and she's run well going long on the green in the past; with a top pilot taking the call she looks to be a big threat.   Gran Sabana Late runner drops off another weak try over the local sod; she did score from a tough spot here in last season's finale and maybe she has a move forward in her third back from the break, but in her current form it's tough to make a serious case for this longshot.   Bend a Silver Passed some runners late while offering little threat to the top few finishers; mare doesn't have much early foot and it doesn't appear as if she's going to get a whole bunch of pace in front of her in here; have to side with others for the money spots.   Great Martini Moves outside for her return to the green and she didn't have much to offer in that lone local turf spin; while her last on the Calder dirt was better, it came against cheaper claimers and it still wasn't very fast; barn's been on a poor run with those switching surfaces; can't back her today.   Sweet Gator Girl Filly has been a popular claim of late and now she'll move to a barn that hasn't had any recent luck with this type; her most recent local turf spin wasn't very good and she got a much better clip in front of her in that one than she's likely to see in here; maybe she's closer early but she does start from the outside slot and her better efforts have come on the main track.   Wild Horse Annie MTO enters this fresh and boasts a sharp recent breeze for her return to the races; she hasn't run this cheaply in a long time and she does handle the wet going which will likely be the track condition if she meets the starter today; contender if the rains come.   Black Ana Splash MTO returns for a solid fresh outfit with a bullet breeze in tow; the last time she faced a claiming field she scored by open lengths at Monmouth and maybe the return to running for a tag helps move her up; still, she's not the most consistent sort and certainly throws in her share of clunkers; consider. - Steve Grabowski Race 7 Satan's Mistress Sire is 22-for-338 with 1st-turf starters; is out of a 3-for-13 grass dam (87K); 1 of 2 foals to race on turf is a lawn winner (1-for-14 Red Door Drive 58K); new trainer wins just 7% first-time out with newly-acquired runners since 2013; will be taking a wait and see approach.   Cindy Cata The 4-0-0-0 career-turf line does not bolster the confidence level off latest-dull dirt effort which prompts the surface switch for a 1-for-16 grass trainer since 2013; 2-back win was posted on a wet-main track and this race being rained off onto dirt seems like her best hope of bettering form.   Wild Oration Consistsent sort gets a positive 2-pound weight swing off the half-lentgh loss vs. Call My Lawyer on the GP green 3-back; her career-best Beyer was on dirt but was no match for Dreaming of Bella when last seen on the main track who follows here here if this is moved to the main track.   Be My Love 123 pounds is by far the heaviest-weight assignment of career; exits a best-last-race Beyer speed figure and career-best number racing without blinkers for the 1st time ever and off a 48-day layoff 1st off the claim; back in just 20 days for this suggests she could bounce off that huge-fresh attempt; began career 1-for-14 but has won 3 of her last 5.   Zulbaby Last 2 starts following 45 day-or longer freshenings were dull efforts; 53 days off for this seeking the right level where she is 5-0-0-0 during career on GP green; was pretty good to end last summer in NJ but has plenty to prove over the local green.   Claiming Victory She has never raced at this short of a distance or following this long of a layoff during career for a 13%-winning-fresh trainer since 2013; the winner from last repeated in a GP-optional claimer with an 83 Beyer; the 2-back winner scored right back in a GP-OPC with a 90 speed figure.   Call My Lawyer Her turf debut was sensational and 3-back beat the show finisher on dirt who Beyered 62 in a next-out $6,250-claiming win; shocked the world when winning the 1st-green start; in latest she middle moved likely bouncing off his new-speed figure Top which posted after a 51-day layoff; hopes the 32-day break will help her bounce back to best; the one to beat..   Just Blessed Be My Love handled her 2-back on the green but she gets a positive 5-pound weight swing for this; was primed today by setting the pace on CRC dirt; clearly her 3-for-8 grass record tells us she wants the lawn again; just missed March, 2013, with a career-best Beyer in a GP green sprint; the pick.   Valverdina Wass in strong form until latest posting a career-low Beyer 24 days ago when tiring; the 2-back winner and runner-up Beyered 93-82 in next-out GP-90K stakes and OPC wins; her best Beyers have been on dirt; lost the gate speed in recent losses so prominently displayed in first 4 starts of career.   Sunrise Kitty Both wins at today's 5F distance and one of those from the 10 post at GP; the runner-up finisher from last Beyered 91 in a next-out GP-OPC win; her last 2 GP grass races have been far off her best form but the super-fresh trainer adds to the appeal; contender.   Dreaming of Bella Main Track Only entry's September-field-best Beyer speed figure was posted on CRC-sloppy footing at 5.5F and off an 8-week absence; she is back in just 3 weeks for this after winning fresh; all-or-nothing on GP dirt but an impressive 4 wins and 2 off-the-board finishes locally; a major force if in. - Art Gropper Race 8 Fortune Pearl She might need to step it up along the Beyer Speed Figure scale to get the better of this field, but she's lightly raced and she showed enough in her first two career starts over turf at Tampa to be taken seriously against these; a strong turf barn and rider help add appeal.   Run Hide My Girl Sire wins with approximately 12% of his turf starters and dam won 6 of 34 starts for 197k, including 0-for-13 over turf; runner up from latest won next out here on 2/26 going 1m vs. 35k OPC's with a 64 Beyer; she's run well in her first two starts over the main track here and this looks like a decent spot to find out what she can do over turf.   My Mom Santina Street Boss has been a strong influence as a turf sire and this filly has to be taken seriously in this spot based on what she showed in her turf debut in her latest outing; looking at this as being a decent spot for her to meet up with winners for the first time.   Congrats Honey She's been in pretty good form in her recent starts at Crc, and her one start over turf prior to this wasn't a bad performance; she seems to own fine route speed and that can be a key racing over this turf course.   Sawyer Half-sister to multiple stakes placed Jazz (3-17, 104k over turf) stepped up with an improved performance when splitting a couple of today's rivals in her turf debut in her latest outing; if she's ready to come right back with that level of performance, she can have a say in the outcome.   Great Cross This miss has a nice pedigree for turf and she's making her first start after a claim for a barn that is capable of moving one forward; interesting to see the way that she broke through the maiden ranks with an easy win while wearing blinkers for the first time in her latest start.   One Penny Piece (GB) Maybe it's fair to question the competition she's handled racing overseas, but she's won half of her eight starts and like to see her getting Lasix for her first start in America; not going to be shocked if she shows up with a competitive effort against these.   Emmabelle She showed up with a sharp winning performance in her first start routing over turf in her latest outing and she beat a few of today's rivals in that race; improving filly commands her share of respect in this spot.   Marnesia Wild Heir Her most recent start over turf, two races back over this very turf course, measures up well when compared to what her rivals in here have shown to be capable of; she has a sharp recent workout in tow and Saez has won with 4 of 9 (44%) mounts for this barn at the current meeting.   Cambiata She's only finished worse than third once from five starts over turf and like to see that Lopez has been aboard for a couple of her sharper performances; feel that she's eligible to be ready to give a good account of herself while making her second start as a 3-year-old and her second start back from a layoff.   Brenna's Song She looks like another in here who is heading in the right direction entering this race, and even though she was beaten by a few of today's rivals in her latest outing, she was right on their heels at the finish; can't count her out of it.   Sharp Words She was beaten by today's rival Run Hide My Girl two races ago, but this will have to be considered a favorable spot for her to land in if this race has to be moved to the main track, and if she can remember what she did at second asking, she'll put in a legitimate bid for the top prize. - Brian Pochman Race 9 Malibu Mudslide Back in a hurry after stopping badly; she has been off poorly now back-to-back; mare has much more speed than she just flashed; Wolfson has a good eye for a claim and would expect rider to send hard and try to steal it; don t ignore.   Sunset Time This miss has some class; beaten a length in a Grade 3 back in the day, she got a nice confidence builder at Tampa in last; note show horse in last was over 4 clear; miss has trained fast for this and she is proven off the pine; respect.   Awesome Vow Mare has run well at a number of different venues; nice ride last time and Cotto let them come to her, then opened up a notch to spin away again; she has won from off the pace sprinting and drilled sharply for this event; toss anything from a 28% barn at own risk.   Sense of a Woman She has been a popular claim box item; she handles any kind of going and the distance is of no concern; she was losing ground late in her best effort at this distance when beaten over 4; may need softer to shine.   Oasis At Midnight Troubled in her first two starts of the year, miss showed her solid late foot in last and was coming hard; she has a right to grow into her skin as kin to 7-time route winner and near $185K earner Ridethesilvertrain; the hotter the pace the better for this miss.   Billboard Babe Wraps re-added last time to no avail; she is giving away some winning experience to some in here and that may tell at crunch time; she lost ground late in the last pair and this is a far cry from winning at 4 and a half at Charles Town; she has a lot of work to to stay with top kin and over $800K earner and Grade 2 winner Night Patrol; needs a rebound run.   Cloudy Vow At least she has the 2 races to draw from now; off the rail today, she has more speed than she just flashed but has a tendency to back out of it when challenged; miss lost ground in the lane in both efforts at this distance; would be careful here.   Successful Luck Professional in the debut and note the place horse was 3 clear; sire known as sprinter but he did take a route; dam's lone win was a route and this youngster has a right to have a stellar career as kin to champion Blind Luck, who won multiple Grade 1s routing on way to over $3.2 million career; could be any kind. - Brian Mulligan Race 10 Dark and Dusty His better races have been run over turf and perhaps the drop to the 20k maiden claiming level can prove to be a key for him; high win percentage barn is plenty capable of having this one ready for a sharp try in his second start as a 3-year-old.   Old Army Sire wins with approximately 12% of his turf starters and dam won 3 of 33 starts for 32k, including 0-for-2 over turf; an improved performance in his turf debut is a must in order for him to get the job done, but he does have some early zip and he shows up for a barn and rider that win their share of races together.   Ten and Four This colt sports some of the stronger turf form in here and the 62 Beyer Speed Figure he earned for his latest effort is the best last race figure in this field; don't like to see that he hasn't recorded a top-three finish, and this barn has been quiet at this meeting, but he's clearly a contender.   Gavel Down Limited available data on G2 winning sire with regard to his turf starters and he won 3 of 5 starts for 277k during his racing career, and he didn't make a turf start; dam was winless from 13 starts, and she didn't make a turf start; he's tough to back based on what he's shown so far.   Rayonnant Sire is 0-for-12 with his turf starters, including 0-for-9 with starters trying turf for the first time, and dam won 5 of 10 starts for 65k, and she didn't make a turf start; he has some early speed to employ but a much improved overall performance in his turf debut is required in order to get the job done.   Gangnam Camp (KOR) Sire wins with approximately 12% of his turf starters and this is the first foal from an unraced dam; he's been outrun at every point of call in his first three starts and he's another in here who must show more in his turf debut if he's to make any noise.   Headwing Not wild about what he's shown to this point in time and he hasn't been able to maintain a forward gear through the stretch in his races; runner up from latest won next out here on 2/22 going 1 1/16m over turf vs. 75k MCL's with a 71 Beyer.   Skarabajo His most recent race was his sharpest performance to date and that level of performance can get him into the mix against these; still having a tough time giving him the nod for the top spot, but can't count him out of it.   My Little Jet His lack of early speed is a concern and it would have been nice to have seen him show more when dropped in with maiden claimers for the first time in his latest outing; prefer to look toward others. - Brian Pochman
