Gulfstream: Closer Looks for December 14, 2013

Race 1

No Act

Cuts back a half panel aftr running them down at the local level in his first start in 5 months; late runner moves down inside and that may make things a little tougher on him, but he's won from the fence before and he does look to get speed in front of him today; repeat threat.

Bling Bang

Goes for his third straight score while making his first start under this outfit's care; gelding has solid tactical foot and he ran to his wet track pedigree last time so if the rains come it should benefit him here; this is a better bunch than this local winner is used to facing and he did sit the trip behind dueling front runners in that last one, but his numbers indicate he is clearly on the improve.

Senor Habanero

Makes his first local start back under the care of an outfit that has had no recent luck with its fresh runners; gelding does have some early foot but he's only won once on dirt and it's been a while since he's stepped on the stuff; prefer to side with others on the win end.

Raised for Speed

Eight year old makes his first start off the claim for an outfit that posted unworldly numbers with this type this past summer in New Jersey; they've gotten off to a nice start at the local stand and though he didn't do much in either start here, this guy does have local experience; his more recent numbers are on the light side, but the barn's work must be respected.

Musical Flair

Tired from dueling on the front end in the slop across town but wasn't beaten much at the finish by one of these in what was his first off the the barn's claim; gelding faces a pace foe drawn to his immediate outside here and he hasn't had much luck chasing so he'll probably again have to be used hard from the bell and that could make him vulnerable late.

C D Gold

Couldn't hold off the late running winner after kicking away from pace pressure in his return from the short break at the level; he'll face other speed in here, but the slight cutback to this trip should help and he'll get the services of a top pilot for this; may prove to be the one to run down.

Tri Polar

Lopez sticks with a 7 year old who beat cheaper in his first start off this outfit's claim to run his local record to a perfect 2 for 2; gelding is quick enough to sit within striking range of the front runners and he does look to get solid fractions in front of him so if they start to back up maybe he's able to get first run on the latecomers; consider.

Trip N Run

He was in over his head on Claiming Crown Day as his 124-1 price on the tote suggested; he's back in a more reasonable spot today, but his recent efforts don't suggest he's a great fit with this bunch; price will be solid on the quick turnaround, but have to look elsewhere for the winner.

Smart Humor

Tackled conditioned foes on the cutback to sprint laast time and wasn't beaten much; gelding will again get some pace to run as well as some added real estate, but he steps up in company for this one and will need to show up with more to have a say. - Steve Grabowski

Profound

He hasn't shown much yet but this 925k purchase is out of a multiple G1 winning dam who won 12 of 21 starts for $1.4 million, including 3 of 5 turf starts for 359k, and he's a 1/2 to G1 winner War Chant (5-7, $1.1 million, including 2-for-2 over turf for 758k), multiple stakes winner Ministers Wild Cat (6-22, 368k, including 0-for-2 over turf) and G2 winner overseas, Ivan Denisovich (3-14, 437k, including 0-for-2 over turf in North America).

Just Foolin Around

His first two career starts were encouraging performances and not going to be surprised if he bounces back with a sharper try after being given some time off; winner from latest won next out here on 12/1 going 1 1/16m vs. 25k OPC's with a 74 Beyer and 3rd finisher won next out at Aqu on 11/3 going 1m vs. MSW rivals with a 78 Beyer; this gelding is a 1/2 to multiple stakes winner Our Friend Harvey (3-35, 202k over turf).

Siete C

Sire wins with approximately 15% of his turf starters and this is the first foal from a dam who won once from three starts for 43k, and she didn't make a start over turf; Castellano has won with 59 of 197 (30%) mounts for this barn in 2013.

Armature

His lack of early speed has been leaving him with a lot of ground cover when he hits the top of the stretch but he merits contender status based on what he's done in his first three starts; if the early pace in here heats up, look for him to be be moving in on them through the lane.

Market Outlook

It's probably a good idea to recognize the presence of Castellano aboard another in here, but this colt was backed to favoritism against 11 rivals in his career debut, and this 3-year-old has every right to be ready for an improved performance while making his first start since February; he's a 1/2 to G1 winner overseas, Pathfork (3-6, 237k, including 0-for-2 over turf in North America).

Carson City Brew

Sire wins with approximately 13% of his turf starters and this is the first foal from a stakes winning dam who won 7 of 27 starts for 236k, including 0-for-4 over turf; he hasn't made much of an impression through his first three starts and this looks like a tough assignment for his first turf test.

War Classic

Majestic Warrior has been a poor influence as a turf sire and this gelding will need to show more than he has in his first two starts in order to contend; winner from latest returned to win next out at Bel on 10/23 going 7f over turf vs. 25k OPC's with an 86 Beyer, and runner up won next out at Bel on 10/9 going 1 1/16m vs. MSW rivals with a 74 Beyer.

Sampson County

Another representative of poor turf influence Majestic Warrior signed on in this spot, and it does appear that this colt will need to see this race moved to the main track in order to have his best chance.

Pirate's Grip

Sire wins with approximately 13% of his turf starters and G3 stakes placed dam won once from 12 starts for 132k, and she didn't make a turf start; this colt is a 1/2 to multiple stakes palced Elusive Schemes (8-48, 160k, including 1 of 11 turf starts for 32k); runner up from latest won next out here on 2/2 going 1m vs. MSW rivals with an 80 Beyer.

Lochte

He's run well in three consecutive starts prior to this and this gelding looks like he can be a player regardless of the surface that this race is run over; he's out of a stakes winning dam who won 4 of 11 starts for 152k, including 1 of 3 turf starts for 33k; Rispoli has won with 14 of 48 (29%) mounts for this barn in 2013.

P T L George

Sire wins with approximately 15% of his turf starters and G3 stakes placed dam won 3 of 13 starts for 123k, including 2 of 9 turf starts in North America for 99k; this colt is a 1/2 to G3 stakes placed Lucky Copy (5-16, 203k, including 4 of 11 turf starts for 160k). - Brian Pochman

Take My Time

New rider has sizzled at the current-GP meeting as he gets a good pace flow to rally into for this; forgive latest-turf debut when beating one runner home; late runner ran much better on dirt 2-back at today's distance; his style suggests he may need more distance than 1 Mile and a pace meltdown to graduate; contender.

Twin Distinction

25%-winning turf-to-dirt trainer adds to the appeal; back on the main track for this after not want any parts of a wet dirt 2-back but 3-back flashed gate speed when rallied past by similar rivals; Frank Quay and Evil Quest figure to battle him hard from the gate; clearly is a major pace presence who could use less distance not more noting his only exacta finish occurred at 6F.

Mane Meal

The addition of blinkers in last pair helped improve slightly; his 1st start in a maiden claimer 2 weeks ago did not produce the improvmement needed to graduate over tougher; middle moved in latest suggesting perhaps sprinting might be his best game.

Evil Quest

Defeated 3 runners combined in 3 starts; dueled for the front in last and has to battle Frank Quay and Twin Distinction to make the lead here; winning 2-year-old trainer adds to the appeal but the addition of blinkers in latest did not produce the improvement needed to win; view as a pace presence for part.

Centrifical Force

Would be a tough customer if repeats his 2-back rally a strong race considering he was bumped; wish he showed more in last when racing wide most of the way; Frank Quay, Evil Quest and Twin Distinction all own strong-gate speed which helps the closers like him to pick up the pieces; the pick.

Macarron

Drops to lowest-price tag ever for the 1st start on GP dirt with his career-best Beyer occurring 2nd-time out in a 2-turn Mile; today races around 1 turn; odds-on loss 2-back while 3-back was handled on turf by the runner-up finisher who graduated next out in a CRC-MSW race with a 56 speed figure; seems the one to beat.

Frank Quay

Most runners move forward 2nd-time out but he regressed being eased to finish last the only time ever racing on a fast-main track; the debut runner-up finisher Beyered 66 in his next-out CRC-MSW win; adds more gate speed with Evil Quest and Twin Distinction then hopes to hang on late for a share. - Art Gropper

Race 4

Skinner

Like the series of drills since the last effort and considering the drop, if he can run at all, the figures to show it here; 2 for 14 dam banked about $70K, lost twice on grass; lone half bro to race won on grass the first time he tasted the stuff; don't ignore.

Scorpion Al

Gelding showed ability last year but the extended layoff must be addressed; note runner got away with pedestrian splits in that third start and still got late; try to get a good look at him on the track.

Gridiron Great

Look for soph to show more speed on the stretch out; backers can point to the fact that both siblings won, but neither on grass; look for rider to send hard an hope for the best.

Solo Approach

A few slices for this guy, but he s had his chances; he has run decently here and the last race came back live; the place horse took a MSW at Mountaineer next out, 10th finisher took a $5K SUF maiden claimer, 11th finisher took a $10K maiden seller at CD and 5th finisher was 2nd a nose in a maiden $16K at Belmont; there are a couple of grass winners in the family; due.

Trib

Mr. Greeley has won with about 10% of his debuters in a 391-horse sample, with about 9% of his first-time turfers in a 511-horse sample; sire won third start, took multiple Grade 3s, earned about $475K in 16 starts, never turfed; stakes winning 4 for 14 dam banked $150K, was turf only; 2 of 4 siblings won including 4-time grass winner and near $140K earner Presumptive; drills hardly inspiring.

Fiddlers Tango

Only a couple of published moves since the last effort; no speed, no asset; at least there are a couple of multiple race grass winners in the tree; will likely be in the picture late if at all.

Ingenuity

At least he got a feel of the course; 8/31 place horse cashed next out in a maiden $25K Delaware seller, lost next pair; a pair of sibs could not handle grass; soph pressed faster splits at the shore; expect better effort today.

Haylen Returns

Sweet Return one for 32 with debuters, 0 for 24 with first-time turfers; sire won multiple Grade 1s on grass, banked over $1.8 million; dam s lone win was a sprint on dirt; lone half sister Stone Cold Crazy won 3 times on grass in the minor leagues; no published moves beyond 3 furlongs; is he fit enough?

Dragon Tail

Can't be thrilled with the defeats vs. softer; show horse in last graduated next out on the drop into a maiden $8K WO seller; potential backers can say there is a triple turf winner in the clan; after 19 beats, it's hard to find the upside.

Real Estate Rich

Horse Greeley 0 for 16 with first-time turfers; Grade 2 winning sire won twice at 2, earned over $225K, never turfed; realistically placed today as a $30K purchase; only a brief threat to kick it off but he has a shot to show more speed today; show horse in last took a MSW here and the 4th finisher took a $12.5K maiden claimer here; 2 for 18 dam was out of the money thrice on grass; one sibling did win on grass and top kin Champali earned over a million; may wake up here.

Private Phone

Mister Phone 0 for 13 with first-time turfers; sire won a couple of Group 1s in S. America; dam was unraced; all 5 siblings won; 3 raced on grass to no avail; none were special; trainer has spotted them fine all year.

Pegasus Star

Runner has been around the wire a few times and Maker obviously has a good eye for a claim; 2nd, 3rd and 7th finishers from the 9/18 race graduated next out; there is a triple turf winner in the family; toss anything from a 25% barn at own risk.

Starship Omega

Considering the trouble, the local debut in September was pretty solid; no turf success in the tree but one sibling did win nearly $250K; top Beyer did come for this pilot.

Dreamalot

In good hands, Hess and Desormeaux have won a bunch of races over the years and this guy got a boost when the 10/24 place horse graduated next out in a maiden $30K CD seller; he has to be considered a disappointment as kin to Spain, who earned over $3.5 million; gelding was well clear two back; can't be dismissed.

Round Midnight

Gelding improvised nicely with the second in last on the cut back; the sprint could have sharpened his speed a bit too; 4th and 5th finishers in last took maiden $12.5K and $16K seller respectively; bug has had good success for Ward.

The Culchie

Colt has hooked clear winners in the last pair; Beyers have gone in the right direction since he was eased; rates a valid look if he gets a chance to suit up. - Brian Mulligan

Race 5

Livingston Swagger

Draws the fence for the cut back to sprint in his first start since the summer; gelding ran big at one turn across town prior to the poor last out try here and his recent drills are solid, but the barn hasn't had much luck of late with its fresh runners and this guy still has to prove he can step at this level; just watching.

Value Trap

Lightly raced sophomore didn't offer much of a signature speed when returning from half a year on the shelf here last month; gelding did return to breeze well on the Palm Meadows green and maybe he's better with that last one behind him, but he's another who has failed miserably in his 2 cracks at the level; he may prove to be the quickest of these early, though, and clearing could help him get back on track at a price.

Speechify

He's another sophomore who has only run a few times, but his lone loss came when stretched out in his first crack at this level; he's undefeated in 2 local sprint tries and he has the type of positional foot that gives him first run on the latecomers; with a solid turf breeze in tow and some route bottom in him from his last he looks to be a contender.

Sweet Rocket Man

Tackled a pretty good sprinter and was no match for him or most of the others last time and now he'll return to a level at which he earned his career best number 2 back over the track; given the rest of his efforts, don't know that this guy is nearly as good as the figure her earned in that score and his normal try just isn't going to cut it with these; siding with others.

Capital City

He's been sidelined since failing to finish when sent long in the Calder slop over half a year ago; gelding hasn't been a threat since leacing his prior barn and nothing he's run will put him in the mix with the best these have to offer; tough to make any type of case for this longshot.

Tulira Castle

He's been idle since a solid effort against his peers in the G3 Swale here last winter and he boasts some decent breezes for his return for an outfit that hasn't had much luck with this type; we know he likes the local footing and he has fired fresh in the past so maybe he's able to get in the mix in his first crack with older.

Jay Eye See

Field's highest last out Beyer earner wasn't beaten much when stretched out at the level last time; he wasn't bad sprinting 2 back when beaten by one of today's foes and he did suffer through a rough beginning to that one; with a littl extra to offer late here he could arrive on the scene late to grab a share, but given the fact he's settled for a lot of minor placings that's probably where he's best used today.

Happy My Way

Returns to the scene of his career best main track Beyer effort after proving that 2 turns on the lawn is not his best game; barn boasts excellent numbers on the surface switch and this guy is certainly quick enough to be up with the pacesetters from the outset; consider.

Bob and the Gang

Speedy gray returns from another freshening after offerling little in his first start back at the Meadowlands; he was pretty good on the Monmouth main track earlier in the year but he's tailed off considerably since and his better efforts did come with the benefit of the lead which is going to be a tough spot to secure from out here. - Steve Grabowski

Race 6

Just Blessed

Her overall turf form has been solid and like to see that she has some early speed to employ after breaking from the rail post but she is going to need to step up her game in order to prove to be the one in this spot; Gonzales has won with 5 of 8 (63%) mounts for this barn in 2013.

Commence Firing

She commands her share of respect in this spot after reeling off four consecutive victories since being claimed by these connections, but like all of the others in here, she's going to need to see Subtle to produce a performance that is well below par for her in order to have a chance at the top spot.

Must Be Love

She's been beaten by a couple of today's rivals in her two most recent races, and with Subtle signed on, this event just becomes even tougher for her; third place finisher from latest returned to win next out at Crc on 11/3 going 6f vs. 10k OPC's with a 74 Beyer.

Happy Voyage

She has just a single victory after 17 career starts and this has to be considered an extremely tough spot for her to be seeking her second win; note that she's been beaten by a number of today's rivals in her recent starts.

Cavetto (GB)

She deserves credit for the way that she was able to make her career debut a winning one but she doesn't find herself in a soft spot for her first attempt against winners; third place finisher from debut returned to win next out at CD on 11/6 going 6f vs. MSW rivals with an 80 Beyer.

Perfect Package

She earned a career best Beyer Speed Figure in her one start sprinting over turf and like to see that she got the job done in her first start over this turf course in her latest outing; Lopez has won with 38 of 108 (35%) mounts for this barn in 2013, including 5 of 12 (42%) at the current meeting.

Running Debi C

She's displayed decent route speed but this looks like a tough spot for her to test the turf sprint waters for the first time; her dam was multiple graded stakes placed while winning 4 of 19 starts for 348k, including 3 of 12 turf starts for 246k; runner up from latest won next out at Crc on 12/7 going 1 1/16m over turf vs. 16k OPC's with a 77 Beyer and 3rd finisher won next out at Crc on 12/7 going 5 1/2f vs. starter alw. rivals with a 68 Beyer.

Be My Love

She's racked up a couple of wins sprinting over turf in New Jersey prior to this, but she's going to have to produce a much sharper performance if she's to see her number posted on top after this one is run; feel that a minor award is likely the ceiling.

Carolyn M.

Not only was she a off her best game when last seen but she hasn't posted a top-three finish from three starts over turf prior to this; she finds herself faced with a difficult assignment for her first start since October.

Great Red Beauty

She's done some of her better work in her three starts sprinting over turf and she might be ready to give a good account of herself while making her second start back from a layoff; however, she is going to need to dial it up along the Beyer Speed Figure scale in order to put any pressure on the top contenders in here.

Subtle

She took her game to another level when returned from a layoff back in July and this mare was last seen earning a stakes placing against a very good field of turf sprinters; she's clearly the one to deny and Castellano has won with 8 of 27 (30%) mounts for this barn in 2013.

Jolena Jo

She shows up for a high win percentage barn and it is worth noting the success that Carmouche has had riding for this outfit from a relatively limited number of starters; not putting her at the top of the list, but a spot underneath in the exotics appears to be within reach. - Brian Pochman

Race 7

Browns Gap

Pace presence has been working quickly for thiis; he was outfinished at shorter 1st time going long so the added half furlong here is a major hurdle to overcome; career-best Beyer speed figure was in the 3-back sprint when defeated by the winner and runner-up they Beyered 85-63 in next-out GP-allowance-MSW wins.

Acaramelao

Sire is 26-for-425 with 2-year-old debut starters; is out of a 4-0-0-0 dam (1K) who produced 5 winners from 6 other foals to race including top-earner 162K-Mr Bowie (6-for-29); mild worktab while an inside draw can be tricky for any inexperienced runner.

Nagaza

His narrow-neck loss in the career debut looks better since beating the 4th and 5th-place finishers they Beyered 84-80 in next-out GP-MSW graduations; style suggests the added yardage here will be a plus but has to be ready for very best off the 51-day layoff to graduate.

Maddy Bird

Wish the worktab for this was more enticing; the debut-show finish looks better since the winner repeated in a GP allowance with an 80 Beyer speed figure while he defeated the 4th-place finisher a 60 Beyer GP-30K-maiden-claiming next-out graduate; another who was screaming out for more distance in the debut and gets it here.

Palace Gate

Hard to ignore the trainer's incredible 36%-win rate among 2nd-time starters; his turf debut looks even better since the show runner Beyered 48 in his next-out TAM-MSW win; should improve for this after hitting the gate 1st-time out.

Hi Speed Chase

New barn yields 24% winners 1st-time out with newly-acquired runners; speedster has serious stamina issues after 2 fades at shorter than today's event; gets a sizzliing GP pilot but not a great sign that he regressed on the Beyer scale 2nd-time out.

Thundergram

Adds more-gate speed here but figures to sit just off Hi Speed Chase and if that one is not in could leave him alone on the lead which is always a dangerous scenario; latest was very good beating the show runner who Beyered 80 in a next-out CD-MSW score; the 2-back runner-up also graduated next out at CD with a 71.

Our Caravan

Sire is 3-for-8 with 2-year-old debut starters; is out of an unraced dam who's only other foal to race is 2-for-8 Shanadaan (31K); steady worktab on display for a high-percentage 2-year-old trainer who yields a much-lower 11% debut winners.

Blarp

Sire is 6-for-90 with 2-year-old debut starters; is out of an unraced dam who produced 2 winners from 3 other foals to race including Grade 2-stakes winner Newsdad (5-for-21, 498K); working like a runner for a trainer not known to win with 1sters

Cosmic Coincidence

Sire is 51-for-313 with 2-year-old debut starters; is the 1st foal out of a 4-0-0-0 dam; high-percentage debut trainer adds to the appeal with a strong worktab for 1st asking; rider listed yields 33% winners for the barn since 2012; seems the best of the 1sters.

My Storm Trooper

Stalked the pace nicely then was outfinished for the win at shorter which is the main concern adding distance for this; has something to prove on fast tracks off the debut loss vs. Maddy Bird; working like he will be a major-pace presence again; hopes to stalk the inside speed then get 1st run on the closers.

Long Water

Super-fresh trainer off the disappointing off-the-board finish 10 weeks ago; working steadily for this hoping to bounce back to best although off latest today's distance seems iffy; the debut winner repeated in a SAR-G1 with an 85 Beyer.

Special Ops

Sire is 10-for-51 with 2-year-old debut starters; is out of a Grade 3-placed dam (4-for-14, 186K) who's only other foal to race is 1-for-4 Queenlike (12K); the trainer has been superb with 1sters and recently won with one unveiled in a route

Gaining Ground

Edged at huge odds in latest noting his light-Beyer speed figures throughout career; much better on dirt noting the 2-back turf loss vs. the runner-up finsiher who Beyered 77 taking a next-out AQU-MSW event; the debut runner-up and show finishers Beyered 80-74 in next-out CBY-100K stakes and SAR-MSW wins.

Fearthefalcon

Solid-debut try even though he hung on the money; showed he could handle 2 turns and the route distance 1st time out; the 3F workout for this at CRC was not very enticing but has every chance to move forward today with the debut race under his belt. - Art Gropper

El Botas

Sire wins with approximately 7% of his turf starters and dam was unraced; he was an easy winner against six rivals in his career debut, but turf and distance are concerns, and he finds himself meeting a tough group of turfers in his first attempt against winners.

Diabolical I P A

Sire wins with approximately 4% of his turf starters and dam won 2 of 5 starts for 43k, including 1-for-1 over turf for 14k; two of his first five starts have been respectable performances but he is going to need to find a way to step up his game in his turf debut in order to prove to be a player against these.

Camden Street

He ran to his backing in his career debut and he has to be viewed as a top contender off of that performance while meeting up with winners for the first time; he's a 1/2 to Kilderry (4-13, 178k over turf); Prado has won with 9 of 22 (41%) mounts for this barn in 2013.

Bluegrass Derby

Half-brother to stakes winner Outside Nashville (3-12, 115k, including 1 of 4 turf starts for 39k) has yet to run a race that is strong enough to suggest that he can get the job done against these and he might prefer distances shorter than today's one mile assignment.

Telcontar

His form has improved since been placed over turf two races ago but this has to be considered a tough bunch for him to be meeting up with; can't help but feel that he looks like more of an outsider.

The Battle Is On

Both of his starts over turf had been quality ones and like to see what he did off of a layoff in his latest outing when breaking from an outside post facing stakes competition; he certainly has a live look to him in this spot with Castellano aboard.

Myositis Dan

Sire wins with approximately 11% of his turf starters and this is the first foal from an unraced dam; turf is a question, but he ran well over the synthetic surface at Keeneland two starts ago, and he gained useful route experience in his latest start; top connections and a sharp looking recent workout add further appeal.

Branded Hand

Respect what this colt has done in his three turf starts, but it might be a negative to see that his connection saw fit to drop him in with maiden claimers in his latest outing; 3rd finisher from latest won next out at Tam on 12/7 going 1 1/16m over turf vs. MSW rivals with a 48 Beyer.

School On a Hill

He's Grade 2 tested racing over turf and he shows up for a barn that has been very live with turf starters the past few months; interesting to see the addition of blinkers for this and Rocco is a go-to rider for this outfit; can't ignore.

Enthrone

He's had a number of chances to show us what he can do, including three starts over turf, and he will have to be ready to take his game to another level in order to get the better of this field.

Rope a Dope

One of two interesting options to consider in here going out for the Catalano barn, and even though this lightly raced 2-year-old has already shown a good deal of ability, he's still plenty eligible to have more to show us; must consider.

Scoria

He certainly has plenty of turf in his pedigree, and Bravo gets a lot of live calls from this barn, but it would've been nice to have seen this runner show a little bit more in his first attempt against winners when last seen while getting Lasix for the first time.

Steve

He got the job done in his only start over turf prior to this, but that was against maidens and he attracted a lot of wagering support in that race; he's obviously going to have to find a way to produce a much improved performance in order to contend.

Theros

Like to see the improved performance he showed up with at second asking and feel that there is a good deal of upside to consider in this direction; he's out of a multiple G1 winning dam who won 5 of 10 starts for $1 million, including 1-for-1 over turf for 450k; Saez has won with 16 of 55 (29%) mounts for this barn in 2013.

All Tied Up

He needs to see a scratch from the main body of this race in order to draw in, but this colt does have a little bit of quality to his pedigree, and his latest effort was clearly his best performance to date; that said, it is tough to give him the nod over the other Pletcher-trained colt in here.

Cabo Cat

Twice Told Tale

Doesn't seem near good enough, not having been able to win second-level allowances; connections seem to be taking a shot in a short field, hoping to get a stakes placing and increase her residual broodmare value; better than she showed last out when checked on the backstretch, but even if she runs back to her 77 Beyers, she's too slow to contend.

Heart Stealer

Is also entered against the boys in a race at Crc Saturday, but this looks like the much better spot; massive improvement for Wolfson; could not catch R Free Roll last time at Calder but that's R Free Roll's track, where she excels; this one is a winner at GP and seems more likely to reproduce her last race than R Free Roll over this strip; can be a bit keen - so she needs to be ridden patiently by Castellano; the belief here is that she can rate better than others if given the chance; choice.

Munnings Sister

Flopped in her latest after chasing Cluster Of Stars; this miss throws in the occasional race where she gets beat by a pole; even if she runs back to her better efforts from 2013, she was running Beyers in the 86-90 range and others seem faster; perhaps a pace contributor.

R Free Roll

Was able to turn away Heart Stealer, who chased her throughout last time at Calder; but take note that her two fastest races and most of her victories have come at Calder when she has cleared; now she's running at GP and having to deal with plenty of pace.

Classic Point

Is yet another speed horse in this field; has typically raced on the lead with Solis Aboard, uncluding when she just missed in the Honorable Miss behind Dance to Bristol over the summer; being fresh, she ought to come out running, especially off a blistering 45.60-second work for the Chief. - Byron King
