Gulfstream: Another filly from Canadian pipeline

Another promising filly from the north is en route to South Florida.
Come to Mischief, winner of the $125,000 My Dear Stakes in her career debut last month at Woodbine, has been purchased privately in a deal that was finalized on Tuesday, according to her new owner, Ron Paolucci. She will be shipped to Gulfstream Park and be trained by Peter Walder.
“I’ve had luck with buying 2-year-old fillies out of Canada this time of year,” said Paolucci in reference to Ria Antonia.
Paolucci bought Ria Antonia at Woodbine in August 2013 from her third start. That November, she finished second and was placed first in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies.
Paolucci said he would also like to see Come to Mischief advance to the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies. She was a six-length winner of the My Dear on June 28. Come to Mischief covered five furlongs in 57 seconds and earned a 78 Beyer Speed Figure.
“I think she’s going to be better two turns,” Paolucci said. “I’m hopeful she’ll like the extra ground.”
Come to Mischief is a daughter of Into Mischief and the Proud Citizen mare One Act Play. She started her career with owners Horse’n Around Racing Stable and Martha Gonzalez, and trainer Nicholas Gonzalez.
Paolucci said the first target for Come to Mischief is the Grade 2 Adirondack on Aug. 15 at Saratoga. Paolucci has about eight horses in training at Gulfstream, among them the Grade 3-winning sprinter City of Weston. He races under the name Loooch Racing.
