Greeley and Ben makes Sam's Town second stakes triumph

Greeley and Ben went over $500,000 in earnings Saturday when he rolled to a three-length win over Wild Bert in the $75,000 Sam's Town at Delta Downs.
It was another half-length back in third to Best You Ever Seen.
The Sam's Town was a five-furlong race for 4-year-olds and up.
Greeley and Ben was tied for North America’s second winningest horse of 2021 with a record of 11 wins from 15 starts, according to a list kept by Equibase. The former $10,000 claimer added to his lore Saturday when he won the second stakes race of his career in the Sam's Town, elevating his overall record to 17 wins from 28 starts for earnings of $529,398.
Greeley and Ben ($2.60) set fractions of 22.58 seconds for the opening quarter and 46.54 for the half-mile before going on to cover the distance on a fast track in 59.16. Timothy Thornton was aboard for End Zone Athletics and trainer Karl Broberg.
Greeley and Ben is an 8-year-old son of Greeley’s Conquest. His other career stakes win came in September in the $150,000 David M. Vance at Remington Park, which capped a nine-race win streak for the horse.
