Greater Good draws outside post

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Greater Good, who has captured the Southwest Stakes and Rebel Stakes already this meet, drew the far outside post 10 on Wednesday morning for Saturday's Grade 2, $1 million Arkansas Derby at Oaklawn Park.

Smarty Jones won all three stakes last year en route to his victory in the Kentucky Derby.

Afleet Alex, who was installed as the 2-1 favorite by Oaklawn linemaker Russ Ramstad, drew post 6. He will be ridden by Jeremy Rose, who is back aboard after John Velazquez rode the colt in the Rebel Stakes. Velazquez is riding Bandini on Saturday in the Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland.

The rest of the field for the Arkansas Derby, from the rail out, is Batson Challenge, Andromeda's Hero, Canteen, Rush Bay, Flower Alley, Wild Desert, Real Dandy, and Cat Shaker.
