Great Lakes: 'Exclusive' consistent

MUSKEGON, Mich. - Exclusive-njoyment will carry high weight of 120 pounds when he heads a field of nine Michigan-bred 3-year-old colts and geldings in the $50,000 Mackinac Handicap at Great Lakes Downs.

Exclusivenjoyment, an easy winner over allowance company in his last start, has been off the board only once in his 10-race career, finishing worse than third only in his debut here on Aug. 31, 2003. Two starts back, he rallied late to finish second, beaten a half-length by top local 3-year-old Rockem Sockem in the Dowling Stakes. Regular rider Mary Doser has the mount for trainer James Griffin.

Rockem Sockem will sit out the 1 1/16-mile Mackinac while recuperating from throat surgery performed last month, but trainer Bob Gorham has entered Do the Impossible and Hot Shot Spirit. Do the Impossible was third in the Dowling Stakes.
