Great Lakes Downs track report

MUSKEGON, Mich. - Effective Saturday, there will be another 10 percent purse increase at Great Lakes Downs, according to Chris Dragone, the track's general manager. This will be the third increase, a total of just more than 25 percent, since June.

Dragone attributed the extra purse money to increased simulcasting revenue.

* Born to Dance, last year's Michigan horse of the year, will face five 3-year-old rivals, including her stablemate Sweetwater Rose, in the $45,000 Ann Arbor Stakes at one mile on Friday evening's card. James Jackson trains both for Ro Parra. Born to Dance has never been beaten over this strip by a contemporary, but was second to older competition in the Larkspur Handicap. Bad Thing, the runner-up to Born to Dance in both the Regret and the Plymouth, will also start.
