Favorites were perfect in Friday night's Ontario Sires Stakes Gold Series action for 2-year-old trotters of both sexes at Grand River Raceway. Each race carried a purse of C$95,000. Galen Erso (Doug McNair) came to the outside from fourth prior to the 28 3/5 quarter in the first tilt for the colts and geldings and cleared Shutter Green (Bob McClure) for the top spot on the way to the 57 3/5 half. From there, Galen Erso backed down the half to just 1:27 and then used a 30 1/5 final quarter to defeat Shutter Green by a length and a quarter in 1:57 1/5. Chicago Hall (James MacDonald) got third. A colt from the first crop of Green Manalishi, Galen Erso was bred by owner Marcus Melander and is trained by Gregg McNair. He has a summary of 3-1-1 from five appearances, has pocketed C$166,168 and returned $2.90 to win. In the other flight for the boys, Lookatmegoamigo (Louis Roy) drove on two-wide around the first turn and got by You Got It Kemp (Sylvain Filion) to take command beyond the 28 second opening quarter. Lookatmegoamigo continued on the engine through a 57 2/5 half and a 1:26 2/5 three-quarters, but Filion brought You Got It Kemp off the cones leaving the final bend and vaulted past Lookatmegoamigo in the stretch en route to the win by three-quarters of a length in 1:56 3/5. Lookatmegoamigo ended up second and Rising Interest (Tyler Borth) grabbed third. You Got It Kemp, a gelded son of Muscle Mass, is co-owned by trainer Dan Lagace in partnership with Brady and Brooke Lagace and Suojalampi Stable Inc. Suojalampi Stable Inc. also bred You Got It Kemp, who has a trio of triumphs and a second from four outings and earnings of C$158,167, with Kemppi Stables Oy Inc. Supergirl Molly (Trevor Henry) was third after a first-over trip. By Muscle Mass, Foxy Amee was bred by Highland Thoroughbred Farm and is trained by MacDonell for owners Chris and Michael Storms. Foxy Amee made her third trip to the winner's circle in her fifth effort, has put away C$122,575 and returned $3.20 to win. Medley Seelster (Jody Jamieson) was also in front throughout in the second filly test, as she led at the 28 second quarter, 57 3/5 half and 1:26 4/5 three-quarters before she closed in 29 4/5 to down pocket-sitter Lil Sweet (McNair) by a length and three-quarters in 1:56 3/6. Sprite Seelster (Borth) was the third-place finisher. Medley Seelster, a daughter of Wheeling N Dealin sent out by trainer Blake MacIntosh, won for the third time in her ninth trip behindd the gate and has now banked C$141,010 for owner Glenn Dyke. Medley Seelster, who paid $5.30 to win, was bred by Seelster Farms.
