Graded stakes analysis: Lake George Stakes
DARING DANCER turned in a "wow" race in winning the Appalachian at Keeneland in her first start of the year, but as well as she performed in her seasonal debut, she didn't fire at all in her latest. Trainer Graham Motion keeps the faith by placing her in a graded stakes race. Must her respect her three-for four-record and willing to give her another chance; the choice.
A LITTLE BIT SASSY was disqualified from first to fourth for interference in the Regret Stakes at Churchill after drifting out under left-handing urging from today’s jockey, Luis Saez, who is given another chance by trainer Michael Matz. The Regret form has held up, with Aurelia's Belle wining the Arlington Oaks over the weekend. This miss is comfortable sitting just off a leader, the likely scenario here with the speedy DARING KATHY breaking from the inside.
Frontrunning DARING KATHY enters this race with top form on the grass at Gulfstream, earning solid figures for blowout victories, but has yet to race in a graded stake. Although she got away with an easy pace last time, this miss has shown that she can go quickly and win, too; expecting A LITTLE BIT SASSY to take back and sit a length or so off the pace – so another good trip on the front end looms.
