Grade 1 winner Telling to stand stud in Florida

Glenye Cain Oakford|Mar 02, 2012

JoAnn and Alex Lieblong’s Telling, winner of the Sword Dancer Invitational in 2009 and 2010, will enter stud this year at Stonewall Farm Ocala, the Florida farm confirmed Friday.

The 8-year-old A. P. Indy horse will stand for $6,500 stands and nurses, with special consideration given to out-of-state mares.

In addition to his two Grade 1 wins, Telling placed in five stakes, three of them Grade 3 events. He had been targeting the recent Grade 2 Mac Diarmida at Gulfstream but missed the race due to a suspensory problem. He retired with wins in 6 of 28 starts and $848,409 in earnings.

Telling is out of the Grade 1-winning Deputy Minister mare Well Chosen, who also is the dam of the stakes-placed Bernardini filly My Assets.
