Gotta See Red comes into Cinema Stakes off romp

Gotta See Red has a family tradition of stakes success at Will Rogers Downs to uphold Monday when she runs in the $55,000 Cinema.
The one-mile race is for 3-year-old fillies bred in Oklahoma. The field of six includes the stakes-placed runners Twilight Curfew and Ekati’s Hit.
Gotta See Red, who was a stakes winner last fall at Remington Park, is looking to follow in the hoofsteps of her dam, Gotagogotagogotago. She was a Will Rogers stakes winner in 2011 in a one-mile division of the Oklahoma Stallion Stakes. It was one of seven career victories for the mare, who shares the same connections as Gotta See Red.
Trainer Kari Craddock has been the trainer of both horses for Hal Browning and David Faulkner.
Gotta See Red became a stakes winner in the $100,000 Oklahoma Classics Lassie last October. The win came over six furlongs. Gotta See Red has since won at a mile, in a Will Rogers allowance for Oklahoma-bred fillies and mares on April 6.
Gotta See Red, who was making her first start against older rivals, stalked the pace in fourth and powered home by 8 3/4 lengths. The Beyer Speed Figure of 69 that she earned is the best last-race number in the Cinema.
Leandro Goncalves has the mount from post 6 on Gotta See Red, a daughter of Pollard’s Vision who was bred by Browning and Faulkner.
Twilight Curfew, who was second to Gotta See Red in the Lassie, is moving back to two turns off a third-place finish in an allowance sprint March 29 at Will Rogers. She has had success routing. Two starts back, Twilight Curfew was a maiden winner at a mile on turf at Sam Houston. She also finished first in a one-mile stakes, the $75,000 Slide Show, earlier in her career at Remington Park, but was disqualified for interference. Danny Sorenson has the mount from post 2 for Champion Racing Stable and trainer Ronnie Cravens.
Ekati’s Hit is moving back to both two turns and Oklahoma-bred company, and the last time she raced under such conditions she was placed second in the Slide Show in November at Remington Park. In more recent times, Ekati’s Hit was second in an entry-level allowance over seven furlongs on May 7 at Lone Star Park.
Luis Quinonez has the mount from post 3 for C.R. Trout, the breeder, owner, and trainer of Ekati’s Hit.
Canada Candy enters in peak form, as she has won back-to-back races. She accounted for a $15,000 conditioned claiming sprint March 17 at Sam Houston, then came back to win a first-level allowance route for Oklahoma-bred fillies and mares in her most recent start April 27 at Will Rogers.
Will Rogers closes its meet Wednesday.
