Good Magic, Not This Time colts highlight under-tack preview show for Ocala Breeders March sale

Barbara D. Livingston Not This Time was a top-10 sire in 2022, with runners led by Grade 1 winner and Eclipse Award champion Epicenter.

The under-tack preview show for the Ocala Breeders' Sales Co.'s March sale of 2-year-olds in training concluded Friday with colts by Good Magic and Not This Time sharing the bullet work.

The two colts each breezed a furlong, the traditional measuring stick for juvenile sales, in 9 3/5 seconds on the Ocala Training Center's all-weather Safetrack surface. The four-day breeze show, from Tuesday to Friday, precedes next week's sale, which takes place over three sessions from Monday to Wednesday to kick off the 2-year-old sale season in North America.

The Kentucky-bred Good Magic colt turned in his work during Thursday's breeze show session to climb atop the leaderboard. Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner and Eclipse Award champion Good Magic was last year’s second-leading freshman sire by earnings, and is the sire of Grade 1-winner Blazing Sevens, graded stakes winners Curly Jack, Dubyuhnell, Reincarnate, Vegas Magic, and stakes winners Bat Flip and How Did He Do That.

His bullet-working colt, consigned by Top Line Sales, as agent, is out of the winning Uncle Mo mare Hoppa. Grade 1-Group 1 winners Hit the Road, Rollout the Carpet, and War Command appear on the catalog page.

The Not This Time colt matched that time in Friday's under-tack session for consignor GOP Racing Stable Corp. Not This Time was a top-10 sire in 2022, with runners led by Grade 1 winner and Eclipse Award champion Epicenter.

His bullet worker is an Iowa-bred out of the stakes-winning Runaway Groom mare Meadow Bride. She is the dam of stakes-placed Bridgette Bordeaux.

Out of the smaller group of juveniles to work a quarter-mile, a colt by Bucchero and a filly by Enticed shared the fastest time, each working in 20 3/5 seconds.

The colt, a Florida-bred from the second crop of the state sire Bucchero, is out of the winning Utopia mare Cynthia's Fury, whose first starter is stakes winner My Sassenach. He is consigned by Tom McCrocklin, as agent.

This is the first crop for Enticed, a multiple graded stakes winner. His bullet-working filly, a California-bred, is out of the winning Tapit mare Love's Illusion, dam of stakes-placed J C's a Legend. The filly is consigned by Omar Ramirez Bloodstock, as agent.
