Goldwood can make it three straight in Incredible Revenge Stakes

After spending the winter in Florida, Goldwood has reeled off a pair of stakes victories at Monmouth Park for Colts Neck Stables, trainer Jorge Duarte Jr, and jockey Jose Ferrer. She’ll try to three-peat on Saturday for those three in the $75,000 Incredible Revenge, a 5 1/2-furlong turf sprint for fillies and mares.
Goldwood certainly doesn’t have the competition scared, as nine others were entered against her. But to beat her, they’ll all have to catch her.

The 5-year-old daughter of Medaglia d’Oro was on or near the lead in both of her scores, the 5 1/2-furlong Politely and the five-furlong Unbridled Elaine. Her recently improved early speed has been effective and she is now 6 for 15.
Auldwood Lane returned from an 11-month layoff to win a second-level optional claimer June 30 for trainer Jason Servis. The 4-year-old daughter of Bodemeister has stalking speed but will have to break running from post 1 or risk getting shuffled back where the infield chute angles into the main course on the backstretch. She came close to winning the Blue Sparkler over this course and distance in the final start of her 3-year-old season.
Factorofwon finished second to Goldwood in the Unbridled Elaine for trainer Christophe Clement and most recently showed speed in the Caress at Saratoga before fading to eighth. She is well spotted in the Incredible Revenge, but will be wearing two bar shoes.
Dynatail can be tough at this level but the distance of the Incredible Revenge is shorter than she typically races.
Fear No Evil generally comes close in her races but rarely wins. Four for 27 in her career, she just missed upsetting the License Fee in April at Belmont Park for Tom Albertrani, and then finished fifth, beaten a length, in the Grade 3 Intercontinental at Belmont in her next start.
Sent to Laurel Park for the Maryland-bred Jameela last time out, Fear No Evil dropped too far back early, made a threatening move from the quarter pole to midstretch, then lacked the needed punch late and finshed third, beaten 1 3/4 lengths. Although, she was bumped at the start of that race, it’s hard not to question her desire. Fear No Evil’s last win came eight starts ago in June 2018.
