Golden Gate postpones turf racing for another week

The start of turf racing this year at Golden Gate Fields has been postponed a second time, to the race-week of April 14-16 at the earliest.

Track officials had hoped to schedule grass racing on the race-week of March 31 to April 2, but canceled those plans because of rain, which softened the course. The course has remained wet, prompting the second postponement.

The track began turf racing last year on March 18.

The meet runs through June 11.
