Golden Gate to pay out pick six on Sunday
Golden Gate Fields will have a mandatory payout in the 20-cent golden pick six on Sunday for the first time since late January.
The bet has not been hit in 13 racing days since Feb. 19, creating a carryover of $95,472 in the single-ticket provision for Friday’s program. The bet is paid out in full if there is a single ticket winner or a mandatory payout.
If there are no single-ticket winners on Friday or Saturday’s programs, the carryover should reach approximately $110,000 by Sunday. In that event, the pool of new money on Sunday is likely to surpass $500,000.
The track had a mandatory payout on Friday, Jan. 27 that began with a carryover of $54,818. Bettors added $372,976 on a day the bet paid $8,933.
The pick six was hit four times in February, but not since Feb. 19. The bet covers the final six races on each program.
