Jockey Pablo Flores sustained a small fracture in the tip of his left thumb when unseated by Monsajem Accrete prior to the first race Saturday at Golden Gate Fields.
Leading rider Russell Baze replaced Flores as Monsajem Accrete finished fifth in the two-furlong heat that was the first race for 2-year-olds this season at Golden Gate Fields.
Jockey Ricardo Gonzalez won four races for the first time on the Saturday card, scoring with Mambo Rock ($6.60) in the third race, Loop Current Eddie ($2.60) in the fourth, Golden Guy ($9.40) in the seventh, and Deb’s Wildcat ($9) in the eighth. Gonzalez, who had recorded 20 riding hat tricks in his career, has won with 8 of 14 mounts this week.
