HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – The millionaire Mr. Wireless won his maiden at a mile at Oaklawn Park in 2021 and last week his 3-year-old half-brother Goldbrick did the same, rallying from well off the pace to win by a neck and earn a Beyer Speed Figure of 82. “Goldbrick’s family has been good to us, kind of been the gift that keeps giving,” trainer Bret Calhoun said. “He looks like another good one.” The half-brothers have an accomplished half-sister in Ain’t No Elmers, who has placed in four stakes and earned more than $300,000. The late John Kerber bred or co-bred the three horses and his daughters now race Goldbrick under the banner of Winner Storm. Calhoun said plans are to be determined for Goldbrick. As for Mr. Wireless, the gelding who just turned 6 is in training in Louisiana. “He had a good campaign last year,” Calhoun said. “We did a little rehab work with him in Kentucky. He’s been down with us a little while, just about to get into a breeze pattern.” :: Bet the races with a $200 First Deposit Match + FREE All Access PPs! Join DRF Bets.
