Goffs session dips from '06

Glenye Cain Oakford|Nov 20, 2007
The Goffs November foal sale in County Kildare, Ireland, had a six-figure session-topper on Tuesday at its third of five days' selling.

A Chineur-Esterlina filly brought the day's highest bid of 100,000 euros, or about $148,205. Tally Ho Stud purchased the filly, who is a half-sister to a winner named Redolent, from Ringfort Stud.

Tuesday's session sold 162 horses for 3,267,500 euros, or about $4,835,900. The average price was 20,170 euros, or about $29,852. In euros, those figures were down from last year, when 187 horses brought 4,197,000 euros for an average of 22,444.

The Goffs November foal sale was to continue through Thursday. It is to be followed by an auction of fillies and broodmares from Friday to Sunday.
