Goffs Orby yearling catalog now online, new sale announced

The catalog for the Goffs Orby yearling sale is now available online, featuring a slightly expanded 425 lots.

The two-day sale will be held October 2-3 at the sale company’s Co. Kildare, Ireland facility.

“I am truly excited by this year’s Orby catalogue and so grateful to a significant number of world class breeders for entrusting many of their best yearlings to Goffs,” said Goffs chief executive Henry Beeby. “Our decision last year to revise the Orby format to two days of real quality proved hugely popular with buyers which in turn saw vendors richly rewarded for their faith in Goffs, and it is evident from the increased demand for places in this year’s sale from both Irish and British breeders that the Orby is becoming the number one choice for so many more vendors than in the past.”

Goffs also announced that it will host a new sale of 2-year-olds in training and horses of racing age in London next year, on the eve of marquee Royal Ascot meet.

The sale will be held Monday, June 16, at Kempton Park racecourse, and horses will breeze on the venue’s Polytrack racing surface during the under-tack show. The sale will replace the Goffs Ready To Run sale, which was held at the same venue in March.

"Goffs London Sale will focus on true quality on the eve of the most prestigious race meeting of the year,” Beeby said. “A select number of classically bred 2-year-olds alongside a concise selection of highly-rated horses-in-training – some of which may hold an entry at the royal meeting – will start Royal Ascot week off in some style.”
