Gloryzapper a maybe for Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint

Benoit & Associates Gloryzapper, ridden by Stewart Elliott, wins her first stakes in the Grade 3 L.A. Woman.
ARCADIA, Calif. – Gloryzapper won Sunday’s Grade 3 L.A. Woman Stakes for sprinters at Santa Anita, but trainer Phil D’Amato said he hasn’t decided whether to run her in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint here on Nov. 5.
“We’ll take a look at it and decide what we want to do,” D’Amato said.
The L.A. Woman Stakes, run at 6 1/2 furlongs, was the first stakes win for Gloryzapper, who races for Hebert Bloodstock, Richard Leggio and Peter Peluso. A 4-year-old filly by Ghostzapper, Gloryzapper has won 4 of 8 starts and earned $225,045.
Gloryzapper was second in the Southern Truce Stakes at 1 1/16 miles here in July, and eighth, beaten only three lengths, in the Grade 2 John Mabee Stakes at 1 1/8 miles on turf at Del Mar on Sept. 4.
