Global Campaign won't run in Pegasus and will go straight to WinStar for stud duties

Global Campaign, who had been under consideration for a final start in the Pegasus World Cup in January, will not resume training and has been retired.
WinStar Farm, which co-campaigned the son of Curlin with Sagamore Farm and which will now stand him in 2021, made the announcement Wednesday morning.

Trained by Stanley Hough, Global Campaign retires as a three-time graded stakes winner, with his signature score coming in the Grade 1 Woodward in September at Saratoga. He was third behind Authentic and Improbable in the Breeders' Cup Classic on Nov. 7 at Keeneland, which proved to be his final start.
“We considered bringing him back for a final start in the Pegasus World Cup Invitational because he ran so well in the Breeders’ Cup,” WinStar president Elliott Walden said in a release. “He shed his frog in that race, and the timing of getting him back into training is not going to work, unfortunately. He has been very popular when people see him, and we are excited about standing him next year.”
