Led by the Grade 2 winners Dr. Venkman and Mi Hermano Ramon, California trainer Mark Glatt plans to send four prominent runners to Churchill Downs for stakes on June 28. Dr. Venkman is booked to start in the Grade 3 Kelly’s Landing Stakes, a $250,000 race at 6 1/2 furlongs. A 5-year-old gelding, Dr. Venkman was second by 5 1/2 lengths to the exciting colt Nysos in his first start of 2025 in the Grade 3 Triple Bend Stakes at seven furlongs at Santa Anita on May 31. Last July, Dr. Venkman won the Grade 2 San Diego Handicap at 1 1/16 miles at Del Mar. Mi Hermano Ramon, second by a neck in the Grade 1 Shoemaker Mile at Santa Anita on May 25, is a contender for the Grade 2, $500,000 Wise Dan Stakes at 1 1/16 miles on turf. Freedom’s Not Free, the winner of two one-mile turf stakes - the Pasadena Stakes and Cinema Stakes - at Santa Anita in March and May, is scheduled to run in the $250,000 American Derby at 1 1/16 miles on turf. Judge Miller, the sharp winner of an allowance race at 6 1/2 furlongs at Santa Anita on May 4 in his 2025 debut, is expected to start in the $300,000 Hanshin Stakes at a mile. In 2024, Judge Miller was second in the Grade 3 Californian Stakes at 1 1/8 miles and third in the Grade 2 Hollywood Gold Cup at 1 1/4 miles, both at Santa Anita.
