Gins Majesty wins Ballerina BC

VANCOUVER, British Columbia - Gins Majesty came from slightly off the pace to win the Grade 3 by 1 3/4 lengths over Slewpast at Hastings Saturday.

Breaking sharply under Kevin Krigger, Gins Majesty stalked a moderate pace set by Hurry an Notis who broke down after leading for about 3-furlongs. Slewpast went to the front after a half-mile and took a one-length lead into the stretch before giving way grudgingly to Gins Majesty.

Starlite Strike made a late move to get up for third, a nose in front of the 5-2 favorite A Classic Life who might have been best but lacked running room for most of the race.

Gins Majesty, who is trained by Tim McCanna, paid $15.70. She earned $109,920 for her owners Quadrun Farms.

Final time for the 1 1-8 miles was 1:52.80 over a fast track.
