After getting bet down to 2-1 in her debut, she started slowly and was taken up in the stretch while seeking room before closing in time in a six-furlong maiden special. The big 2-year-old is a member of the lone Ontario-sired crop of grass expert Perfect Soul.

Finish: 7th by 14 1/2
Beyer: 51
After saving ground on the turn, he was bumped and then stumbled while in traffic before fading in the stretch of the Grade 2 Summer Stakes. The son of freshman sire Court Vision had run well in his first two races in New York, which included a third in the Grade 2 Saratoga Special.

KAIGUN

He closed belatedly on the outside in the Grade 1 Woodbine Mile, over yielding ground in his third race off the bench. Casse has been playing catch-up with the gifted 5-year-old this year, and he’s eligible to break through with a stretchout in distance.
