Get the Sensation the likely favorite in Fancy Buckles

The $50,000 Fancy Buckles is the featured race Saturday at Charles Town, but the race will be missing its star performer. Down Town Allen had won the last four runnings of the Fancy Buckles, a 4 1/2-furlong sprint for fillies and mares, but she was injured while making her seasonal debut April 18 in the Original Gold Stakes and had to be euthanized May 11.
Down Town Allen was a fan favorite at Charles Town, where she won 24 of 38 starts since 2009. She is the only West Virginia-bred filly or mare ever to earn more than $1 million.
Get the Sensation is a 3-year-old but is likely to be favored over her older rivals in the Fancy Buckles. Trained by Crystal Pickett at Pimlico, Get the Sensation has won three races in row, including the 4 1/2-furlong Its Binn Too Long Stakes over her own age group April 18 at Charles Town.
A daughter of Not For Love, Get the Sensation has gone wire to wire in all three of her 2015 starts. She was at even-money in the Its Binn Too Long.
Kluvyabye, a 5-year-old daughter of Windsor Castle, also is fast but will be shortening up to one turn. She has not raced at the 4 1/2-furlong distance since 2013.
