German-bred mare early Tattersalls leader

Glenye Cain Oakford|Dec 03, 2007
White Rose, a 7-year-old Group 3 winner in foal to Pivotal, was the early leader Monday afternoon at the Tattersalls December mare sale's opening session in Newmarket, England, after Blandford Bloodstock paid 620,000 guineas for her. The price was about $1,314,060 in American currency.

The German-bred White Rose is a daughter of Platini and winner of the Group 3 Prix Miesque in France. She was a champion at 2 in Germany, where she finished second in the 2003 German Oaks. She already is the dam of a placed runner, Promesse de l'Aube, by Galileo. Haras de Bouquetot consigned White Rose to the auction, which continues through Dec. 6.
