Nasey, the longest shot on the board at 61-1, rallied to a surprise victory in the C$100,000 Earl Rowe Memorial Invitational for older trotters on Sunday evening at Georgian Downs. Fashion Frenzie (J.R. Plante) got away well from the pole position, but Sid The Kid (Trevor Henry) also blasted from post two, and he got to the quarter first in 27 2/5. 1-2 favorite Logan Park (Doug McNair) landed in third and came to the outside as they raced in front of the grandstands for the first time, but he had to settle for a spot in the pocket ahead of Fashion Frenzie as Sid The Kid drove on to the half in 55 4/5. Logan Park made another move to the outside to challenge Sid The Kid before the 1:24 2/5 three-quarters, but Sid The Kid, who was dispatched at odds of 21-1, was game and was able to fend him off, which put a second-over Private Access (Louis Roy) and a third-over Nasey (Travis Cullen) in striking position for the drive to the wire. ► Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter Private Access and Nasey fanned out to challenge the battling leaders, and it would be Nasey who had the most trot as he surged by both Private Access and Logan Park nearing the wire to win by a neck in 1:53. Amigo Volo (Tyler Borth) finished fourth and Osceola (Chris Christoforou) advanced from eighth to fifth. A 6-year-old gelding by Pilgrims Chuckie, Nasey is trained by Jodie Cullen for owner A1stable. Nasey won for the 33rd time in his career, has now earned C$476,911 and paid $125.20 to win.
