Georgian Downs: Logan Park wires field in Grade 3 Earl Rowe Memorial
Logan Park lowered the Canadian record for an older gelding trotter on a five-eighths-mile track to 1:51 4/5 in winning Saturday night's Grade 3 C$100,000 Earl Rowe Memorial Invitational Trot at Ontario's Georgian Downs.
With Doug McNair in the bike, Logan Park led through fractions of 27 2/5, 57 and 1:24 1/5 after he made the lead with little dispute from the outside post eight, and a 27 3/5 final kicker sealed his two length victory. Emoticon Legacy (Bob McClure) rallied for second, followed by Dame Good Time (Scott Young), Sid The Kid (Scott Coulter) and Private Access (Tony Haughan).
The previous Canadian standard for an older trotting gelding on a five-eighths-mile track was 1:52 3/5 and was shared by Fashion Frenzie and Macallan.
