Gathering Dreams takes Classen Memorial

NORTH RANDALL, Ohio - Christian Pilares drove Gathering Dreams through a very tight opening along the rail to make the lead at the eighth pole and drew off to a 2 3/4-length win win in the field of 10 Ohio-bred females in the $50,000, six-furlong Dr. T F. Classen Memorial Stakes at Thistledown on Saturday afternoon.

Gathering Dreams, a bay 4-year-old daughter of Mercer Mill, out of Touched Bythe Lite, by Lite Idea, is owned by Carol Weir and trained by Joe Shuman. She got the six furlongs in 1:12.60 over the good race track and returned $13.40 win mutuel.
