Gar Hole takes fourth consecutive win with Nodouble

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Gar Hole’s perfect Oaklawn Park meet continued Saturday when he won his fourth consecutive race in the $150,000 Nodouble.
Gar Hole ($2.60) was a commanding, five-length winner of the six-furlong race for Arkansas-breds. Souixper Charger finished second, while it was another length back in third to Bandit Point.
The card also included the $150,000 Downthedustyroad for Arkansas-bred fillies and mares won by Connie K ($4.20).
Gar Hole tracked Blame J D through an opening quarter in 21.74 seconds, moved even with that one through a half-mile in 45.28 seconds, then took over in the stretch. The eventual winner asserted his authority in the drive, and covered the distance on a fast track in 1:09.06.

Gar Hole is a son of Tekton who races for his breeder, Shortleaf Stable. The horse is now 4 for 5 for earnings of $272,274. Gar Hole debuted in January 2021 at Oaklawn and ran eighth. He returned to action this meet, and won his maiden on Dec. 4, then separate allowance races Jan. 15 and Feb. 13 before the Nodouble.
In the Downthedustyroad, Connie K set pressured fractions of 22.35 seconds for the opening quarter and 45.96 for the half-mile and had enough left to hold off the late-running Unbridled Twister. She won by a neck over that one, while it was another three lengths back in third to Too Pretty.
Connie K covered six furlongs on a fast track in 1:10.97.
Jon Court rode Connie K for trainer Randy Morse, who also co-bred and co-owns the horse with Randy Patterson.
Connie K is a daughter of Street Strategy, a past winner of the Fifth Season at Oaklawn owned by Patterson and trained by Morse.
Connie K has now won 4 of 8 starts for earnings of $255,193.
