Game N Laughin' vied for the lead from the start, gained a short advantage in the drive, then just held off a furious late charge from Jazzy to post a stunning $61.40 upset in the $65,000 Lightning City Stakes as Tampa Bay Downs kicked off its live racing season before 5,471 fans. Ridden by Dean Butler and trained by Bernell Rhone, Game N Laughin' covered the five furlongs over a firm turf course in a solid 57.21 seconds to notch her fourth win from 13 outings this season. It was the second win in five starts since Rhone claimed the 5-year-old mare for $18,000 in June at Arlington Park. Jazzy finished strong on the outside to be just a neck back while Charlie Papa, who had also disputed the pace throughout, held on gamely to be third, just a head back of Jazzy.
