Galactic Princess gave jockey Scott Stevens his fourth stakes win at the Arapahoe Park meet on Saturday when she drew out by 15 1/4 lengths in the $40,000 CTBA Breeders’ Oaks. Stevens has come in for seven stakes mounts through Saturday, and will be active on the card Sunday. The CTBA Breeders’ Oaks was a one-mile, 70-yard race restricted to 3-year-old fillies bred in Colorado. Galactic Princess ($4.60) won her second straight stakes at the meet behind the $30,000 Encantadora on July 9. She was making a rare two-turn start Saturday, and sat in third as My Meadow took the field through fractions of 24.09 seconds for the opening quarter and 48.05 for the half-mile, while under pressure from Last Dragoness. Galactic Princess moved to the fore into the final turn and increased her advantage through the stretch while covering the distance on a fast track in 1:44.44. Stevens rode the winner for trainer Ty Garrett. Galactic Princess earned $26,610 for owners Hilltop Stable and Eleanor Martin. She has now won five of 10 starts and has career earnings of $107,485. The CTBA Breeders’ Oaks was the first two-turn win for Galactic Princess and her fourth victory in a stakes race. She is a daughter of Ready’s Image.  Galactic Princess is out of the multiple stakes winning mare Western Hemisphere, who is a full-sister to 1999 Santa Anita Derby winner General Challenge.
