HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – G W’s Girl picked up her second stakes win of the Oaklawn Park meet on Monday, as she raced with the pace to prevail by 2 3/4 lengths over Miss Martini in the $150,000 Dixie Belle Stakes. It was another three-quarters of a length back to You’ll Be Back in third. The Dixie Belle was a six-furlong race for 3-year-old fillies. It was part of a special Monday card that was scheduled to be held Sunday before getting pushed back a day due to a winter storm system. G W’s Girl ($2.60) raced three wide on the lead, joining Wisconsin Girl and Spankerboom through fractions of 21.84 seconds for the opening quarter and 45.31 for the half-mile before going on to cover the distance on a fast track in 1:10.12. Francisco Arrieta was aboard G W’s Girl for trainer Greg Compton. Earlier in the meet, G W’s Girl won the Mockingbird Stakes. She is now 3 for 4 in her career and has earnings of $195,975. Booth blitzes rivals to take Commodore In the $145,000 Commodore, a new overnight stakes, Booth blitzed his rivals to cover six furlongs in a blazing 1:08.64. Leading throughout, Booth won by 4 3/4 lengths over Wendelssohn, while it was another 7 1/4 lengths back to Disco Ball in third. Booth ($27.20) set fractions of 21.93 seconds for the opening quarter and 44.98 for the half-mile while racing on a track rated fast. Erik Asmussen, the Eclipse Award-winning apprentice of 2024 who is now a journeyman, was aboard for his father, trainer Steve Asmussen. Booth is a son of Mitole who races for Bill and Corinne Heiligbrodt, Jackpot Farm, and Whispering Oaks Farm.
