LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Horseplayers who backed the filly Nest in the Kentucky Oaks Future Wager, offered March 11-13 by Churchill Downs, will be getting the best tote value when the 148th Oaks is run Friday. Nest closed at 14-1 in the Oaks futures but is the 5-2 program favorite for the Oaks following her decisive victory in the April 8 Ashland at Keeneland. Learn more The two fillies favored in the Oaks futures, which drew $90,737 in combined win and exacta handle, sport a higher morning line Friday than their futures odds. Echo Zulu was 5-2 in the futures but is 4-1 on the program, while Secret Oath was 7-2 in the futures and is 6-1 on the program. Top Oaks contender Kathleen O. (7-2 morning line) was 9-1 in the futures. Among other Oaks fillies, Hidden Connection closed at 41-1, Nostalgic at 46-1, and Yuugiri at 108-1. Four Oaks entries were part of the mutuel field, the 24th or “all others” option, those being Candy Raid, Cocktail Moments, Desert Dawn, and the lone also-eligible Beguine. The field was 6-1.
