ELMONT, N.Y. – Funny Guy this weekend is expected to have his second workout back from his fourth as the favorite in the Grade 1 Forego Stakes at Saratoga, and could make his next start in the Grade 2, $150,000 Kelso Handicap here Oct. 3, trainer John Terranova said this week. :: Enhance your handicapping with DRF’s Belmont Clocker Report On Monday, Funny Guy worked a half-mile in 48.81 seconds over the Belmont main track. It was an indication to Terranova that Funny Guy emerged from his fourth-place finish to Win Win Win in the Forego in good shape. The race was run over a very sloppy track. “He had to check a couple of times, and it was like running in a river down inside,” Terranova said. Stan the Man, who won the Tale of the Cat Stakes on Aug. 20 at Saratoga for Terranova, worked a half-mile in 48.72 last Sunday. He is nominated to the Grade 2 Vosburgh here on Sept. 26, but also will be nominated to the Grade 3, $200,000 DeFrancis Memorial on Oct. 3 at Pimlico. ◗ Happy Saver, undefeated winner of the Federico Tesio Stakes on Sept. 7 at Laurel, worked four furlongs in 49.09 on Friday morning over the Oklahoma training track for an expected start in the Preakness Stakes on Oct. 3 at Pimlico.
