ARCADIA, Calif. - Full Serrano, winner of the 2024 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile at Del Mar, worked five furlongs in 59.20 seconds for a scheduled start in the Grade 1 Pegasus World Cup at Gulfstream Park on Jan. 24. “He caught a horse from another barn in front of him,” trainer John Sadler said. “He looked very good. It was a good, challenging work. “I would say we’re going for the Pegasus. We’re moving in that direction.” Full Serrano has not raced since he finished fifth in the 2025 BC Dirt Mile at Del Mar on Nov. 1. There were several notable works on Sunday at Santa Anita. Nysos and Nevada Beach, first and second in the Grade 2 Laffit Pincay Jr. Stakes on Dec. 28 for trainer Bob Baffert, worked in advance of a scheduled start in the $20 million Saudi Cup in Saudi Arabia on Feb. 14. Nysos, winner of the BC Dirt Mile in November, worked a half-mile in 48.20 seconds, while Nevada Beach went the same distance in 49. Lovesick Blues, winner of the Grade 1 Bing Crosby Stakes at Del Mar last July, worked a half-mile in 49 seconds. Trained by Librado Barocio, Lovesick Blues is scheduled to start in the Group 2 Riyadh Dirt Sprint, a $2 million race at six furlongs in Saudi Arabia on Feb. 14. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
