Full field expected for Matriarch on closing day

DEL MAR, Calif. – A full field is expected for the Grade 1, $300,000 Matriarch Stakes for older females at one mile on turf, which is the biggest of two stakes Sunday, closing day of the meeting.
Trainer Chad Brown is sending Olorda for the race, while Bill Mott has Filimbi, Jimmy Toner ships Recepta, and Christophe Clement is bringing both Hard Not to Like and Stellar Path.
Others expected to enter Wednesday include Alexis Tangier, Baruta, Causeway Carolyn, Chati’s On Top, Crowley’s Law, Glory, Her Emmynency, Prize Exhibit, Queen of The Sand, She’s Not Here, and Stormy Lucy. A maximum of 14 can run.
Sunday’s supporting feature is the Grade 3, $100,000 Cecil B. DeMille at one mile on turf for 2-year-olds. Manhattan Dan, the early pacesetter in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf, is scheduled to ship in and face locals such as Dressed in Hermes and Hollywood Don – both of whom also exit the Breeders’ Cup – as well as Archaeo, Arizona Moon, Bully Pulpit, Canada, Frank Conversation, Imperious One, Mr Notorious, Rare Candy, Trust Your Gut, and Tusk.
