Full brother to Galileo in debut

Alan Shuback|Sep 19, 2001

Black Sam Bellamy, a full brother to Galileo, is scheduled to make an audacious debut on Friday.

Not only will he begin his career in a one-mile conditions race, he will travel across the Irish Sea from Aidan O'Brien's Ballydoyle yard in County Kildare to Newbury, England to do so.

O'Brien has entered six in the Haynes, Hanson and Clark Conditions Stakes, a race won last year by Nayef in his racecourse debut, but Black Sam Bellamy is the one most likely to start.

On the same card, O'Brien will send out his Group 3 winner Landseer against the David Loder-trained Official Flame in the six-furlong Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes for 2-year-olds.
