Friday card, Stronach 5 canceled
RACE REPLAY IS NOT AVAILABLE
Golden Gate Fields in Northern California has canceled Friday’s live race card due to nearby wildfires that continue to blanket the area in dense smoke, according to the track’s parent company.
Golden Gate was scheduled to hold an eight-race card on Friday, beginning at 4:15 p.m. Eastern time. Strong wildfires in Northern California and in Oregon have led to disruptions across the area.

The cancellation of the live card means that today’s Stronach 5, a pick 5 linking races from tracks across the country, will also be canceled. Golden Gate’s third race was scheduled to be the final leg of the Stronach 5.
The Stronach 5 is held every week on a Friday. The Stronach Group, which owns Golden Gate and administers the bet, said that the bet is anticipated to be held next Friday.
