Freehold: Miki In Luv rules in Renaissance final

Pennsylvania Stallion Series champion Miki In Luv went on a successful front-end mission in Saturday afternoon's $45,000 Renaissance Pace final for 2-year-old fillies at Freehold Raceway, tallying in 1:55 2/5.

Driver Dan Dube fired Miki In Luv off the gate from post six and made it to the lead with little dispute. After putting up opening-half fractions of 28 2/5 and 57, Miki In Luv opened up a gap on the others going to the 1:25 4/5 three-quarters and wouldn't be caught from there, holding sway by a length and a half over a late-gaining Odds On Steno (Jordan Stratton). Top Of Mind (Tyler Miller) collected third.

Miki In Luv, by Always B Miki, was bred by Joseph Davino, Brad Shackman, Drennan Stable LLC. and Anthony Perretti Farm LLC. and is co-owned by trainer Ron Coyne Jr. in partnership with Blair Corbeil, Richard Carney and Farrell Carney. A $25,000 purchase at last year's Standardbred Horse Sale, she has six wins and a second in nine starts, has banked $75,350 and paid $3.80 to win as the 4-5 favorite.
