I’m coming off a mediocre week with 7 winners on top in 19 races. Race 1: TrackMaster 68.5 This field is a combined 6-146 in 2024. (6) UILLIAM is still a maiden (0-18) but has given three consecutive strong efforts, two of those uncovered and this 3-year-old just needs a more patient drive by James Foley. (1) BELIEVEINTHESPIRIT goes third time off the bench and hasn’t shown much but has a lot of back class and should get a decent trip here. (2) GOLD STAR YODER was a bit flat in a good spot last week but gave a good front-end effort two back, tiring late for third. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: F&M TrackMaster 72.5 (Pick 4) (6) HARRY HANOVER was a strong second in a lightning fast race last week and missed by just two lengths, has four wins on the year and has the gate speed to launch to the top here and never look back. He won back-to-back races in July over at the Big M but his early speed actually may be a better fit here on the half. (8) Y S BETTORS LEGACY has put in strong efforts since coming in from Canada and joining the Izzy Estrada barn. He was strong last week parlaying a pocket trip to victory and the hot Justin Huckabone (7-36) chooses him over the #3 and #7. (1) MY WISH COME TRUE is 0-27 this year but has earned checks in four of his last five and is well positioned to get a piece of this. Race 3: NJSS Standardbred Development 3-Year-Old Filly Trot (2) TOVE PALEMA adjusted well to the half mile track with an explosive win here two back and ran into the tough Buy A Round last week and finished third. She should be on or near the lead here.  (5) SOUTHWIND BANSHEE has looked impressive in both starts since arriving at Freehold using a perfect pocket trip to win the first leg of this series and was a strong second last week in the Garden State. (3) ST PAULI GIRL has hit the board in 9-15 with four wins and looks like she has some talent but hasn’t been able to hit the ticket here her first two. Race 4: F&M TrackMaster 68.5 (Pick 5) This field is a combined 3-152 this year. (1) JUST MY MAMA didn’t enjoy her trip to Philly last week but was second in her two previous attempts here at Freehold. There is no reason this lightly raced 4-year-old won’t be on the lead or in the pocket here and she really doesn’t have much to beat. (6) SANTAFE’S MJ is 0-23 this year but her last three efforts have been solid and this field is easier. (2) A LADY SIZZLING is a bit of a mystery in here making her fourth start of the year. She has 28 career wins and there’s not a lot of early speed in here and she might get a good trip. Race 5: NJSS Standardbred Development 3-Year-Old Filly Trot (Pick 4) (5) CENTRAL PARK has hit the ticket in 10-11 career starts with three wins and has three recent on-the-board finishes on half mile tracks. (2) KINESIOLOGY broke here last week but put in an even effort two back settling for third. She goes fourth time with Lasix for trainer Ron Burke and has won four times in 2024. She had a rough trip in the NJ Classic consolation two back but she has the early speed to find good early position. (1) MEETMEATTHEBAR has banked six figures already and has been facing tougher but looks a notch below the top two. Race 6 : NJSS Standardbred Development Fund 3-Year-Old Colt Trot (6) MR GRANT ran into the tough Hankins Hanover last week and had to settle for second. He broke here two back from post eight but has 10 exacta finishes in 22 career starts and this looks like an easier group than the last two. (4) ROBINHOOD has been a decent second and fourth in his first two tours of Freehold and seems to have adjusted to half mile racing. (3) TAKEMETOCHURCH DEO got bet down to 7:2 in his first trip here at Freehold and has six exacta finishes in 19 career starts. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 7: F&M TrackMaster 72.5 (3) VINTAGE GAL drops down a notch and meets the weakest field she’s seen in a long time. She has 10 wins since 2023 and won back-to-back here on 5/10 and 5/17 with the latter at a higher level. She switches to Siegelman and has a 1:57 1/5 mark here this year. (2) EDEN PAIGE N makes her third start off the bench after two even efforts. She has hit the ticket in 6-13 this year, has good early speed and meets a softer group than she has seen in this year. (7) SWEET MOVES won at this level two back at even money and then had no chance moving up from post seven. She’s reunited with Mark Herschberger who gave her a patient drive two back and could add value to the ticket. Race 8: TrackMaster 68.5 (2) UNCLE COZ got some major post position relief last week and tried to go wire-to-wire but got run down late and settled for third. He finished a strong second on 8/31 in 1:57 3/5 and threw in a good effort despite getting parked early on 8/24 and tiring late. He is well positioned to make amends. (7) HUNT YOU DOWN has four wins and nine exacta finishes in 2024 and was flying from the clouds last week and just missed by a neck, finishing second from the same seven post. (4) LET’S FOAL AROUND has hit the ticket in 12-27 races this year and has 34 career wins and is probably the best of the rest.
