Free: Two pick three plays for Del Mar for Saturday, July 26
DEL MAR, Calif. – A competitive program Saturday at Del Mar includes a pair of appealing pick three sequences. They will not break the bank. Total cost: $10.
The first wager is on races 2-4, with a chance to hit twice. The second is on races 8-10.
PICK 3 (races 2-4)
Race 2
BETTYS BAMBINO (No. 5) ran well last out, third in a similar N1X allowance while hounded through a fast pace. Assuming he rations his speed at this shorter five-furlong distance, he can win. He is listed as the 7-2 second choice and will be a pick three single.
Race 3
First-time starter APPEALING LADY (No. 2) and second-timer TATUM’S GOLD (No. 4) are keys. Appealing Lady has worked like she means business but is stuck on the rail. She is the 3-1 second choice.
Tatum’s Gold finished well in her runner-up debut and galloped out in front of the winner. Maidens from this stable typically improve; she is 4-1.
Two higher-odds entrants are SWEET MZ. POPPET (No. 7) and ASHLEYS BAMBINO (No. 9). ’POPPET made a middle move last time and went flat. She is 6-1. ’BAMBINO is by win-early sire Decarchy and a throw-in at 15-1.
The 5-2 favorite is first-timer Olympic Lady. She will be left off the ticket on principle. If the pick three hits, it will hit at a short payoff already. No reason to make it shorter.
Race 4
The undefeated SUNDAY RULES (No. 2) is expected to win the Fleet Treat Stakes in gate-to-wire fashion. She is 8-5 and headed toward odds-on.

PICK 3 (races 8-10)
Race 8
IMPERATIVE (No. 2) is the 3-1 favorite with a recent class edge in the Grade 2 San Diego Handicap. YOU KNOW I KNOW (No. 5) is a 15-1 bomber rounding into form and proven at Del Mar.

CLASSIFIED WEAPON (No. 9) makes his U.S. debut against a shallow field of turf maidens. He is 5-1 for trainer Simon Callaghan, who is 4 for 8 with European imports ridden by Rafael Bejarano.
Race 10
A $16,000 claiming race, non-winners of two, is ripe for a new shooter. THE TOM SQUAD (No. 3) ships in from New Mexico and shows up at rock bottom. He is 8-1.
