ARCADIA, Calif. – A pair of pick threes offers price potential Saturday at Santa Anita. Both bets (races 3-5; races 7-9) will single longshots in turf sprints. At $1 per, the total cost is $20.
Race 3
No knock on the favorite Majestic Minister in this turf sprint for $25,000 claiming fillies and mares, but second preference PRETTYHOTPRINCESS (8) offers value at 8-1. Claimed from a modest comeback by Jack Carava, the mare returns to the surface on which she ran so well last summer in the Midwest. Prettyhotprincess is a single at a price.
Race 4
RALIS (8) should be tough in this maiden sprint for 2-year-olds. He drops to a Cal-bred race following a sharp debut vs. open. HOT ORE (1) also ran well in his debut and figures to improve. The ticket will use only the two favorites.
Race 5
MIDNIGHT STORM (3) figures to wire the Grade 1 Shoemaker Mile. As the favorite, Midnight Storm will be a single on the first ticket; a second ticket will add BAL A BALI (5).

Race 8
BEHOLDER (4) is odds-on to win the Grade 3 Adoration. I don’t see her getting beat. Single.
Race 9
No knock on the favorite Big Move, but LILY KAI (3) ran well in his debut and should improve a ton with a race under his belt. At 10-1, Lily Kai is a single.
