DELTA FORUM

Trainer: Neil Drysdale

Last race: May 4, 1st

Finish: 4th by 1 3/4

Beyer: 68

First runner produced by stakes-placed Starry Skies, this gelding ran well. Settled in second flight, he made a mid-race rally into the lane, angled out, ran greenly, and lost his punch. Solid debut.

CATCH THE EYE

Trainer: David Hofmans

Last race: May 4, 5th

Finish: 2nd by 2 1/4

Beyer: 72

Second-start filly improved a ton stretching to two turns. Lagged, rallied wide, and finished willingly in race won by the pacesetter. Quality Road filly galloped out super.

ZEST

Trainer: Cliff Sise

Last race: May 4, 5th

Finish: 7th by 10

Beyer: 55

She was favored in a maiden turf route, but the race was a debacle. Keen and hard-held, she sped to the lead on the backstretch, dueled two wide, drifted wide, and sputtered. Tapit filly a work in progress.

FAST AS CASS

Trainer: Gary Stute

Last race: May 5, 1st

Finish: 5th by 3 1/2

Beyer: 72

Consistent gelding got trapped inside and behind runners in statebred turf allowance, was blocked into the lane, seemingly had run, then was steadied late. With all that trouble he had no shot. Follow in similar N1X.

GREGORIAN CHANT

Trainer: Phil D’Amato

Last race: May 5, 3rd

Finish: 1st by 2 1/4

Beyer: 74

Super U.S. debut by Euro import in an N1X turf race. Veered out and away last, he recovered to reach contention, angled out for the drive, and smoked home while green. Stakes-caliber 3-year-old.

ACHIRA

Trainer: John Shirreffs

Last race: May 5, 7th

Finish: 4th by 1 3/4

Beyer: 83

Comebacker in second-level allowance turf route settled midfield on the rail, found minor traffic on the far turn, and finished well in race won by the pacesetter. Fine comeback by N2X turf mare.
