SANTA ANITA
IT’S SAUL GOOD
Trainer: Jeff Bonde
Last race: June 9, 2nd
Finish: Second by 3/4
Beyer: 43
Odds-on first out, this 2-year-old filly was tons best. Broke last, zoomed into traffic, steadied, was three wide to lead on turn, then was worn down late. Low-rated race, but this Stay Thirsty filly can run.
PUSHINESS
Trainer: Michael McCarthy
Last race: June 9, 6th
Finish: First by 6 1/4
Beyer: 69
Super debut by juvenile filly. Sped to lead, opened up, coasted home. Cal-bred by Kantharos runs next at Del Mar in $100,000 CTBA Stakes on Aug. 6 or Grade 3 Sorrento on Aug. 12.

PANTHERA’S FATE
Trainer: Phil D’Amato
Last race: June 10, 5th
Finish: Eighth by 3 1/2
Beyer: 59
A 3-year-old firster in Cal-bred maiden turf sprint, this Smiling Tiger gelding broke last, rushed while rank, was hard-held on turn and blocked into lane, then finished evenly. Had no shot in creditable debut.
SELENAIA
Trainer: Jonathan Thomas
Last race: June 10, 7th
Finish: First by 3 1/4
Beyer: 86
Midwest shipper annihilated modest 3-year-old fillies in Grade 3 turf route. Raced alone in fourth, blew past front-runners on turn, full stride late. Four-start filly can handle a class raise.
PARIS SECRET
Trainer: Phil D’Amato
Last race: June 10, 7th
Finish: Third by 5 1/2
Beyer: 76
Turf filly is better than this. Lightly trained between starts, not really asked until top of lane, okay finish. Graded winner two back can improve July 22 in Grade 2 San Clemente at Del Mar.
ESCAPE ARTIST
Trainer: Michael McCarthy
Last race: June 11, 6th
Finish: First by 4 1/4
Beyer: 86
Improving 3-year-old crushed entry-level allowance turf mile. Pressed slow pace, kicked late (23.28 final quarter), dominated. Fits conditions of Oceanside Stakes on July 21 at Del Mar.

MISSED THE CUT
Trainer: John Sadler
Last race: June 11, 9th
Finish: Second by 3 1/4
Beyer: 91
Highly regarded import switched to dirt, was four wide most of allowance mile, loomed into lane, flattened out. Wide trip aside, he ran like he needed it. Worth following in summer at Del Mar.
SULTRY KITTEN
Trainer: Phil D’Amato
Last race: June 11, 11th
Finish: Third by 4
Beyer: 69
A 3-year-old filly making her career debut in turf sprint, this gray by American Pharoah raced evenly two and three wide in turf sprint. She ran like a filly likely to improve with racing.
