TEMPLE KEYS
Trainer: Tom Proctor
Last race: Oct. 17, 5th
Finish: 3rd by 4 1/4
Beyer: 48
A 2-year-old by Temple City, this colt was compromised by a speed bias stretching to two turns. He made a little move on the far turn and then went evenly. This was a sneaky-good effort despite the low figure. He should move up a ton next out over a fair surface.
TAMARANDO
Trainer: Jerry Hollendorfer
Last race: Oct. 18, 3rd
Finish: 2nd by 2 1/2
Beyer: 86
First start in nearly six months, this good 3-year-old ran well in a turf-sprint stakes. It was only a prep race for the Del Mar fall meet, where he won the Futurity as a 2-year-old. He might show up Nov. 29 in the Native Diver Handicap.
TANGELO
Trainer: Ben Cecil
Last race: Oct. 18, 8th
Finish: 3rd by 1 3/4
Beyer: 77
A lightly raced California-bred, she was compromised by passive strategy. Though she has tactical speed, she was allowed to drop to the back of the field and finished evenly. She can bang out the first allowance condition with a more ambitious ride.
LILIES AND ROSES
Trainer: Dan Hendricks
Last race: Oct. 19, 7th
Finish: 4th by 11 1/2
Beyer: 46
A debuting 2-year-old filly by Super Saver, she seemed uncomfortable early, raced greenly, and finished okay in a race dominated by the front-runner. Any longer distance will benefit her. She probably wants to route.
