CARMEL ROAD

Trainer: Bob Baffert

Last race: Aug. 26, race 3

Finish: 1st by 8 3/4

Maiden 2-year-old stretched out in dirt mile, made lead, motored along, crushed by many lengths. This was only the second start for Quality Road colt. Has stakes potential.

STONE POINT

Trainer: Peter Miller

Last race: Aug. 26, race 4

Finish: 2nd by 1 1/4

Beyer: 55

Debut 2-year-old colt broke slowly and trailed Cal-bred maiden turf route, rallied to midpack, blocked at three-eighths and again in stretch, finished steadily. Solid debut.

ANNIE GRAHAM

Trainer: Jeff Mullins

Last race: Aug. 26, race 5

Finish: 1st by 9

Beyer: 81

Sharp sprint filly returned to claiming ranks and dusted rivals by open lengths. Claimed for $20,000 by Mullins from Doug O’Neill, four-time winner can fire right back.

HONDO CROUCH

Trainer: Mark Glatt

Last race: Aug. 27, race 4

Finish: 3rd by 2 3/4

Beyer: 45

Debut 2-year-old broke slowly, was void of speed, trailed, blocked at quarter pole, made grinding rally inside. Claimed for $50,000 by Glatt from Steve Miyadi. Sibling to seven winners ran well.

GEEZER

Trainer: Hector Palma

Last race: Aug. 27, race 4

Finish: 5th by 4 1/4

Beyer: 41

Debut 2-year-old asked for run from gate, was in traffic inside and behind runners, ran in spots while appearing green, split field. Not a great debut, not bad. Should improve.

TOM’S BEAUTY

Trainer: Jeff Mullins

Last race: Aug. 27, race 7

Finish: 4th by 2

Beyer: 77

Comeback turf sprinter in entry-level allowance broke from rail, had inside trip, shuffled on turn, angled out for stretch drive, went evenly late in promising comeback. Her first race since October.
