GP race 1 (12:45 ET) – Class-drop front-runner Bychance (7) will try wire this maiden-claiming turf sprint. He probably will stop again, but at 8-1 for a hot stable, worth a shot.
GP, race 3 (1:45 ET) – Storm the Bridge (9) returns to the level of his runner-up debut two back; he ran okay last out against better. Back where he fits, listed at a tempting 9-2.
OP exacta, race 6 (3:10 CT) – The speed of the speed, “cross-country cinch” St. Joe Bay (3) can be long gone dropping in class from a solid recent comeback in a Grade 2 won by Flagstaff, who was best last weekend finishing second in the Count Fleet. The play is to concede the race to favorite St. Joe Bay, and key him over four longshots in the exacta.
Gray Attempt (2) returns from a short respite; he runs well fresh and is 10-1. Almithmaar (7), purchased from a January sale for $60,000, returns with sharp works that suggest he may fire first start back at 15-1. Awesome Saturday (8) figures off a N2X win two back; he is 10-1. And despite the unproductive stable, route-to-sprint Lenstar (9) fits at 15-1.
Exacta partial wheel: St. Joe Bay with Gray Attempt, Almithmaar, Awesome Saturday and Lenstar. The numbers: 3 with 2, 7, 8, 9.
GP, race 9 (4:53) – A drop from Grade 2 dirt to ungraded turf benefits Relentless Dancer (4). He faced better, including Arkansas Derby-bound King Guillermo. He carried his speed two turns at Delta Downs and if he separates from maiden sprint winner Dr Post (3), Relentless Dancer can be gone. He is 6-1, suspect he will get bet down.
OP pick 3, races 9-11 (4:14 CT) – An appealing pick-3 sequence includes two stakes.
Race 9 – Ginobili (4) is better than his last; Eight Rings (7) is a Grade 1 winner working well for his comeback; Long Weekend (9) blasted easier last out. Three-deep: 4, 7, 9.
Race 10 – The rail-drawn favorite is legit, but a pick-3 ticket does not need the favorite in every leg. Will seek upsets using only rounding-into-form Amy’s Challenge (6) and sharp Mia Mischief (8). Two-deep: 6, 8.
Race 11 – Route maidens include last-out runner-up Copper King (1); stretch-out Violet Pass (3) at a big price; and Unrighteous (4), dropping from Grade 2. Three-deep: 1, 3, 4.
The play: 4, 7, 9 with 6, 8 with 1, 3, 4. Cost: $9 (50-cent minimum). Saver ticket includes race-10 favorite Bellafina with the race-11 longshot: 4, 7, 9 with 1 with 3. Cost: $1.50. Two-ticket total: $10.50.
GP, race 11 (5:57 ET) – Class-drop front-runner Rare Form (6) dips from graded stakes to non-winners three other than while shortening to one turn. He faces pace rivals Soldado (2) and Yorkton (9), but at 10-1, the potential reward outweighs the risk.
