GP, race 8 (4:41 ET) – Super Cute (1), a large filly whose debut was more impressive than the figure or competition she defeated, should get pace to flatter her rally as she shortens from two turns to a one-turn mile. She likely has improved since her maiden win three months ago. Super Cute is listed at 8-1, and worth backing at a couple points less. Program favorite Four Graces (8) is solid, therefore an exacta saver is in order.

GP, race 9 (5:12 ET) – A pace meltdown is expected in this turf route, $25k claiming N2L. That would benefit Sir Hoski (2) and Crypto Gold (4), 6-1 and 10-1 respectively. Will take a shot at whichever goes 6-1 or higher, possibly both. Might be wrong about favorite Positive Phil (3), but he seems vulnerable based on modest closing fractions.
OP, race 8 (4:38 CT) – An allowance for fillies includes a live longshot. Fashionably (5) won a 45-Beyer maiden sprint at Delta Downs; she might be better than the low fig. The runner-up Grey Haze earned a 66 previously, a 41 behind Fashionably, and 64 next out. Based on the pattern, perhaps Fashionably is 20 points better than her December fig.
It's been three months, time for Fashionably to improve. And she is bred to route. She was sired by War Front, and her dam scored both wins around two turns and is a sibling to graded route winners Red Ruby and Mo Tom. Fashionably is listed at 10-1.
GP, race 10 (5:42 ET) – The only apparent knock on speedball favorite R Man Joe (11) is price. His odds could be short. Meanwhile, comebacker Irked (3) returns with sharp works that suggest he is cranked for his first race since July. Bred for turf, Lasix on, Irked is listed at 10-1. Worth a win bet at slightly lower, with an exacta saver under R Man Joe.
OP, race 10 (5:38 CT) – Not a longshot, but 3-1 favorite Inshannity (2) should be tough in her career debut at age 4. She outworked stakes winner Eclair in March; she was a workmate target for Grade 1 winner McKinzie last June. The Santa Anita works, viewed on XBTV.com, hint that Inshannity is an above-average maiden for trainer Bob Baffert.
